I'm thankful for my German Russian Great Grandparents who came to this country WITHOUT welfare... And worked in the bean and beet fields everyday... Refugees get welfare automatically. Neat.
Some of my ancestors almost starved to death their first winter in America. They did not ask for a handout but were resourceful and survived. They passed that work ethic down from generation to generation and I am grateful. Being rewarded by the government for laziness is sickening and steals from those who truly need assistance.

Yep. My grandma used to crawl on her hands and knees... Weeding beets and beans. So did her six kids.. Who would find a half stick of juicy fruit at the end of a row... Kids.. Take note.
My great grandparents came from Germany and they LEARNED english right away, my mom said my great grandfather would not even let them speak german. They never expected anyone to learn their language.
