I understand that. I used to be politically moderate, like steve dave.  I think Facebook made me anti-conservative.

I feel this too. Really, this is the exact reason why Obama won the last election, and the dems will continue to win for the foreseeable future until the republicans reform themselves. While there are some sane republicans, their line keeps getting hijacked by insane people that end up pushing those who stand in the middle to the side the seems the most sane.

In less then 5 hours today, I was defriended by 3 people. Now why these people chose to defriend me, I will never know, but I will make the assumption that it had to do with the not equal sign picture I posted. I posted the picture in response to all the pictures of equals signs that were posted today in support of equality. If you are in support of equality, then shouldn't my opinion, even if you don't agree with it, be just as correct as yours? I have many friends who do not agree with my opinions on alot of things, and they are well aware of this, and we are still friends. To defriend someone over an image of a not equal sign, is pretty hypocritical in my opinion when it is equality you are fighting for in the first place...........Just so we are all clear I posted the picture with the full expecation that people would defriend me, I just wanted to see how many of my friends would do that, and it's apparent they weren't my real friends anyway. Now, with that said it is on to more important issues like the national debt and gun rights.

If two straight guys can’t get married, and two gay guys can’t get married then they have equal rights. The issue behind legalizing gay marriage is not what ‘marriage’ is. The issue is, how can you legally express love with the person you claim to love? How does one define love in a court of law: you can’t. Marriage is an institution that was originally designed to keep couples legally bound to one another so that they could provide a continuous economic means of raising children together. This explains why for thousands of years EVERY culture on earth used arranged marriages. This ensured that a woman would be paired with a decent man so that a child would have a chance at being raised in a healthy environment (love was an afterthought). The idea of arranged marriages is no longer a law in the Western world, but whether you realize it or not, the center of any marriage is the intent to create life and raise children – not expressing love. If your ‘love’ is not realized until you sign a piece of paper in courthouse then you are not in love – you’re just an insecure nut who is more concerned about public opinion than your spouse. The push towards legalizing gay marriage shows that the gay community could care less about acceptance – what they are really seeking is destruction of cultural traditions and the eradication of a custom that they do not conform to. Not only does this show how closed minded and intolerant the gay community (and allies) truly are but it also shows that they care more about a piece of paper than the one they love. They are not in it for each other, they are in it to change the way you think or demonize you for disagreeing. They embody the essence of the Cultural Imperialist flawlessly.
