True, it's the alcohol abuse, not the car.

DNR thinking it was about how if guns should be illegal then cars should too (dumb analogy). It was actually the opposite though, it pays to read stuff!

I'm glad you posted this. First of all, civilian ar-15 rifles are not military weapons. They simply share the same stock and frame. They are not fully automatic. Functionally, they are no different than a semi-automatic Winchester hunting rifle. They are NOT functionally similar to military weapons. They aren't even in the same family. You may realize this, but many don't. 2nd. You are not required to get a license or have a background check to buy a car. Anyone can buy a car. Even a minor. You can also drive that car as much as you want on private property. Even if you've been convicted of vehicular manslaughter, you can still buy a car and drive it on your property... no questions asked. no check, no license, nothing. The purpose of the license is to allow you to operate that vehicle on public property (roads). In many states, that program already exists for handguns. It is called Concealed Carry. You are required to obtain a license and permit if you want to carry your firearm in public (just like a car). However, if you break any firearm laws, you are banned from Concealed Carry and if it was a felony, owning a firearm at all (unlike someone who drinks and drives or breaks traffic laws... they keep owning cars and they keep driving them). The car analogy is unrepresentative of the issue and the proposals that have been made. Finally, the right to bear arms is protected by the bill of rights... driving or owning a car is not. The supreme court (Heller v DC) upheld that the right to bear arms is an individual right. They also stated that the right protects firearms in common use for lawful purposes. The ar-15 is the most popular, best selling rifle in the United States. It is exactly the type of firearm protected by the 2nd amendment. Also, you cannot make someone pay to exercise a right (insurance, registration fees, etc)... It puts those with low income at a disadvantage and can effectively prohibit them from exercising that right. It's called a poll tax and it is unconstitutional. End rant.

I would be interested in quizzing owners of common hunting rifles about the Muslim Brotherhood, who apparently are a cross between al qaeda and the knights templar.

Also, it's not like Obama is taking some fighter jets over to the Muslim Brotherhood's house and letting them fly them around the backyard and then is all "oh you like those you know what can just leave em here my moozy brizzos".

GREAT READ THAT SAYS WHAT WE ALL FEEL!!!!
ROBIN WILLIAMS NY...

'I see a lot of people yelling for peace, but I have not heard of a plan for peace.
So, here's one plan.'

1) 'The US will apologize to the world for our 'interference' in their affairs, past & present. You know, Hitler, Mussolini,
Stalin, Tojo, Noriega, Milosevic, Hussein, and the rest of those 'good 'ole' boys', we will never 'interfere' again.

2) We will withdraw our troops from all over the world, starting with Germany , South Korea , the Middle East, and the
Philippines . They don't want us there.
We would station troops at our borders.
No one allowed sneaking through holes in the fence.

3) All illegal aliens have 90 days to get their affairs together and leave. We'll give them a free trip home. After 90 days, the
remainder will be gathered up and deported immediately, regardless of whom or where they are. They're illegal!!!
France will welcome them.

4) All future visitors will be thoroughly checked and limited to 90 days, unless given a special permit!!!! No one from a
terrorist nation will be allowed in.. If you don't like it there, change it yourself and don't hide here. Asylum would never be
available to anyone. We don't need any more cab drivers or 7-11 cashiers.

5) No foreign 'students' over age 21. The older ones are the bombers. If they don't attend classes, they get a 'D' and it's back
home baby.

6) The US will make a strong effort to become self-sufficient energy wise. This will include developing nonpolluting sources of
energy but will require a temporary drilling of oil in the Alaskan wilderness.
The caribou will have to cope for a while

7) Offer Saudi Arabia and other oil producing countries $10 a barrel for their oil. If they don't like it, we go someplace else.
They can go somewhere else to sell their production. (About a week of the wells filling up the storage sites would be enough.)

8) If there is a famine or other natural catastrophe in the world, we will not 'interfere.' They can pray to Allah or whomever,
for seeds, rain, cement or whatever they need. Besides most of what we give them is stolen or given to the army. The people who
need it most get very little, if anything.

9) Ship the UN Headquarters to an isolated island someplace. We don't need the spies and fair weather friends here. Besides, the
building would make a good homeless shelter or lockup for illegal aliens.

10) All Americans must go to charm and beauty school.. That way, no one can call us 'Ugly Americans' any longer.
The Language we speak is ENGLISH... learn it... or LEAVE...
Now, isn't that a winner of a plan?

'The Statue of Liberty is no longer saying 'Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses.'
She's got a baseball bat and she's yelling, 'You want a piece of me?'

#5 is great.

Also, still think Facebook is stupid/weird for anyone over 13, but after reading these threads, I am at least considering that I could be all wrong about it.
