Perhaps you'll enjoy this little vignette of a true American who shares your passion for photographing our majestic sigil. http://www2.kusports.com/news/2014/jul/05/former-ku-forward-arndt-spends-retirement-watching/

I doubt this needs a translation:

"How will I recruit to Manhattan? Well, distance. And the proud state of basketball. It start there, and then daily flights to Dallas, because I'm really good at going out. Like top five good. Ask my wife. She wants me to be happy."

There's just so much going on here. I tend to think of myself as sort of right-leaning on gun laws, but this single image has just shattered my paradigm.

It's pretty disturbing. And I grew up hunting and shooting guns all the time.

These people are undermining the responsible gun owner argument.  Carrying automatic weapons in public for the sake of doing it is not responsible

Well, they aren't doing it for the sake of doing it. As irresponsible and misguided as it is, they're doing it as a protest against the attempt by liberals to limit the ownership of assault style rifles. It will stop when the libs stop. Obama is the best assault rifle salesman on earth. Also, automatic weapons are illegal.

Fully automatic weapons are not illegal, you just need an additional license/tax stamp.

One girl has a bible, while the other has a Quran. Also, one is showing a slight amount of cleavage, while the other one is only showing her face and hands.

One will strap on a bomb and blow herself up in a crowded bus full of children while praising Allah, and one won't.

Look, I'm not saying the Quran can't be used to rationalize acts of terrorism/war. But the Bible/Christianity has been used for the same thing in the past. Maybe, we should all try to move past those times. Taking pictures with a bible and a gun in front of the american flag does not help with that.
