Money you give the church, you get to claim as a deduction. Money the church gets doesn't get taxed. What a great deal!

Most of them don't actually make any money at all. It would be like having the Red Cross pay taxes.

If they have an annual revenue over $1 billion I think that should be taxed.

Pretty good comment thread! :excited:

Quote
Our government has turned into such a joke. Gee, Putin, you are doing illegal things to the Ukraine. Let's just sit on our thumbs and wait for international public outrage to shame him into doing the right thing. REALLY Obama?!?!?!? He's a fricking communist....he does what he wants....and he isn't scared of your bs. Because you can't man up and just commit to anything. Ugh. This is getting ready to be bad...worse....whatever. And I'm sure John Kerry is going to fix it all by flying into the UK this morning pretending to be bad-ass. Okay. Sorry folks. Off my soapbox now.
Quote from: rando 1
Wait don't leave me on the soapbox alone!! Stay up here with me!! It's so scared what he is turning our world into. And it breaks my heart when I try to imagine what our kids and grandkids are going to have to go through because if this worthless government we have!!!!!

Quote from: OP
Let me clarify that I am not saying we should go in guns blazing, not do anything at all, ect. I just wish we had a leader that would LEAD. And not pussyfoot around on every important issue. And not make us appear weak to all other countries by doing such.And.....I could go on. I can not imagine how frustrating it has to be to serve in any branch of the military under him.

Quote from: Rando commenter 2
Our leader is to busy planning their next vacation, and that isn't funny as one thinks. We have a very serious problems in our country, and he caused most of them. I do feel sorry for our future generations, and what they will face from what he has done.

Quote from: soldier
All days after Obizzy announced to the world we are cutting troop strength to the smallest since pre WWII. I fear this is only the beginning

Quote from: OP
I know! And our troops are who suffer when he sends you guys in and then can't make up his mind what to do. I can't imagine. I am so proud of our troops and support them unwaveringly. It isn't any of their fault, it's the damn leader! And then all of you and everyone here suffer for it. Being a leader means making the hard choices. And while not everyone will love you or you decisions all the time, most should respect your leading ability. He is so afraid to piss anyone off, in turn he does nothing, and pisses everyone off!!!

How dare Putin invade a country without the unilateral support of the UN.  What kind of communist autocrat does that?

The people who are criticizing our approach but then say that they don't think we should go in guns blazing sort of baffle me. What stance are they taking? Are they just saying that so that they can continue to criticize Obama if he "stops pussyfooting around" or is there some other option that they are advocating for that I'm not aware of?

It's hard to say because I don't know what we are doing. Maybe we should give it a few more days and see what Obama actually does before making ourselves look dumb on social media.

I think we should probably stop all trade with Russia and seize Russian assets. It will be interesting to see if that is what we end up doing.

Doing nothing (which it seems is what we're doing) is always option #1.
