Will the Leavitt break soon?

I am what they call a layperson on this, but I believe this would happen over Currie's dead body being killed to death.

Leavitt would be a hire that I could see Currie getting around. It will make news for sure. AND Bill would be okay with it.

So you don't buy into the rumor last year that Currie wouldn't let Bill hire Leavitt because of his baggage from his USF days?

I have heard more than one "in the know" type suggest that Currie has been displeased with suggestions of Leavitt in other ways in the past.

I remembers those as well but I believe it had more to do with the HCIW tittle not being given along with him being DC. Either Currie or Bill did not want to have that title floating around.

We should stop trying to deal exclusively in oldballs coaches and try to get something exciting.

Could be a couple of things, I guess...

1. Smith and Clements realize that they aren't going to be coordinators under Snyder any time soon, therefore, they're getting out of Dodge to further their careers.

2. Smith and Clements realize that Snyder won't be around much longer (1 or 2 years) and decided to take lateral moves (for more pay) at big time programs because there is no guarantee of a job after he leaves.  Not a bad preemptive move for either of them.

3. Snyder is retiring now and everyone is getting the eff out.

My money is on #2.

Also, Jon Beasley will probably get the nod as WR coach.

i haven't read past page two but there are already multiple beasley mentions. beasley hated it here when he was a coach and was begging everybody he knew to get him a job outside of coaching. absolutely no way that he's coming back. now i'll read the other four pages.

This is all sorts of wrong fwiw

Cupboards aren't bare.  New QB with loads of talent and drenched in EMAW, brand new stadium with future phases in the works....blah blah blah

Great time to set a new coach up for success.

I would be all for Jesse Palmer as the next HC.  He would make Kings down at TT look like a hobo.

I heard a rumor last week that Brandon Clark was leaving Derby to come back to KSU and coach.  Didn't hear a position and I don't believe it but now it is looking more plausible. Source: small town rumor

I wouldn't doubt Beasley didn't want to work that much.  I mean when he was in Wichita "playing" football he got over 300+ lbs.  Didn't look like he really liked putting in the effort.

Why does this feel like the part in the movie when we learn something honorable about the hero's past that makes him look like an bad person, and everyone turns on him.

We all know the past already.  Bill works his assistants into the ground and he/his boss pays them less than others offer for working fewer hours and not micromanaging every minute of their day.  Bill's system works for the program in the long run.  It doesn't work well for the assistants in the long run.  At least will Bill you think he's doing what's best for the program, even if he loses some people.  The problem now is on top of the micromanaging, they also have Bill's boss trying to be the best junior detective he can be to fix his image after he got Pearl'd.  There are now two public pieces of data for this.  Currie's not worried about what's best for the program, but for his resume for the SEC.

There doesn't need to be somethign we need to learn to explain the two defections.  We already know enough.

Junior detective/pissing off super star head coaches is not a good resume for the SEC.

JFC, Bill is not pissed at Currie.

Who said I was talking about Bill?   :dunno:

Guys, I would really appreciate this happening today and not this weekend for timing reasons.

Yeah I second this. Going to Colorado this weekend and would rather not have to read goEMAW on the lifts.

in fairness i should say that i bet he does want to come back. but i would also add that he would want to come back for the money only and that kstate is his best shot at getting on at a position coach. i'd also say that it is fact that he did not enjoy being here as a grad asst and tried to find work outside of coaching. do not want.

could be he just didn't like the GA pay which is virtually nothing.  He is a WR coach now, maybe he is coming back?  :dunno:
