Yeah, I'm with 'blast. I've been told that all these departures mean is to expect Bill around anywhere from 2-3 years. Coaches/players are sick of bills antics. Hints the Tannahill tweet. Rinse and repeat. Everyone knows what they're getting into.

Multiple staff members were approached by other schools this offseason and K-State gave them raises to stay. JBC and MS didn't leave because of K-State's unwillingness to pay.

Sean will not be the head coach as long as Currie is the AD.

I'm good with promoting Seiler to take Joe Bob's place.  The guy has paid his dues and earned it.  He's  young, smart, driven, and loyal to KSU exactly the kind of coach we should want.  As far as Smith goes we need to go outside the program I'll be pissed if we promote the GA that dimel brought from Arizona.

Of course if Snyder is retiring I guess we'll have a bunch of openings.  As far as more coaches leaving the two guys I would worry about at this point are Charlie Dickey and the strength coach Dawson.  Not sure anyone else is in any kind of demand.  Dimel probably would be but I think he's going to stick around in hopes of being the next HC.  The rest of the staff are just trying to hang on until they get to full medicare age.

Why does this feel like the part in the movie when we learn something honorable about the hero's past that makes him look like an bad person, and everyone turns on him.

We all know the past already.  Bill works his assistants into the ground and he/his boss pays them less than others offer for working fewer hours and not micromanaging every minute of their day.  Bill's system works for the program in the long run.  It doesn't work well for the assistants in the long run.  At least will Bill you think he's doing what's best for the program, even if he loses some people.  The problem now is on top of the micromanaging, they also have Bill's boss trying to be the best junior detective he can be to fix his image after he got Pearl'd.  There are now two public pieces of data for this.  Currie's not worried about what's best for the program, but for his resume for the SEC.

There doesn't need to be somethign we need to learn to explain the two defections.  We already know enough.

The best thing for Currie's resume is to bring the the most high profile attention getting coach he can. Would that not be good for the program?

This is why I'm not as worried about Sean as others.  I am a little worried that Bill is purposely going to retire in May just to force Currie into Sean, but he's not taking Sean unless he has to.

Same with Dimel, even if Dimel is what's best for the program he won't hire him unless forced to.

However, right now Currie has Bill.  If Bill's not leaving there are two ways to build his resume: facilities and compliance.  We've seen how hard he's worked on facilities and it appears he's working just as hard at compliance (jamargate and smithLTBLgate).

I got a guy on the other line about some white walls

Captain, tell us more about the Sean and Currie relationship.  Is there real hate there or is it just that Currie isn't fooled by Bill puppeting his son for a couple months trying to make us think that the voice we hear is actually Sean's?

Hey Captaincrap,

Why do our young assistants with options to make lateral moves elsewhere dislike working for Snyder so much?

Thanks

it really could be that they were sick of working for snyder. regardless of what his retirement plan/status is.

Would believe that if they had not signed up for the 2.0 version. They knew what they were getting into.

it's not that simple.

I doubt there is real hate there Sean doens't seem like the kind of guy you hate.   He also doesn't seem the kind of guy to lead a BCS football program.  That is pretty obvious to everyone but Bill.  Hell I'm guessing deep down Sean knows he's not cut out for it but doesn't want to disapoint his old man.

Junior detective/pissing off super star head coaches is not a good resume for the SEC.

Perhaps, but we all know something is up. Coaches like Joe Bob and Smith would not leave at this point in time if that wasn't the case.

Agreed.  It was Jamie Vaughn that Bill - and another coach - were mad at (even though when we said it was Jamie Vaughn, it wasn’t Jamie Vaughn that Bill and that other caoch was mad at).

JFC, Bill is not pissed at Currie.

Now we have ruled out the following as the cause for losing two long time AC's, who were alumns and regarded "key" coaches:

1.  Pay
2.  Threat of Sean being the coach
3.  Conflict between Bill and Currie

Now that we've ruled those reasons out, let's focus on why these two long time AC's simultaneously left.

Here are some possibilities:

1.  Bill is leaving
2.  They hate working for Bill
3.  Things are going to go bad in future for the team for whatever reason
4.  Pure coincidence that two long time coaches leave for lateral positions, where money wasn't an issue, before signing day.

That's what we are left with, right?

do you think he made the assistants be in the the office on christmas or do you think he blames the fiesta loss on the them? if i had to guess, i would say he did both.
