:frown: A bunch at my company today. The shortest tenured in a group of five didn't have much of a chance.

Anyone hiring mechanical engineers?
Did you bounce back?

Not yet. :frown: Was really lazy about looking for a job while I still had severance pay and then the holidays. Actually trying to find something now.

Do you have any CFD experience?

does computing my fluid dynamics grade to be passing count as experience? if so, yes, he does.

Does he want to work in Wichita?

I don't have too much CFD experience especially in terms of computer modeling. Wichita wouldn't be my first choice (is it anyone's?) but I'd be open to it.

TTHoTUC was actually decent at fluids, just a dumbass about remembering to turn in the take home part of the exam.

well when the take home part of the exam was based on the homework I didn't do or turn in it made it pretty hard. like, you honestly expect me to turn in my homework and show up for exams? gmafb.
I think what my friend Mitch is trying to say is that true love is blind.

We need an engineering thread.

yeah, I've always been curious about what the most boring thread in history would look like.

I agree that the modern world and the future are pretty boring.

If I were you, I'd start interviewing elsewhere, fanning. You are better than that job, anyway.

In all honesty getting laid off probably would have been a good thing for wacky.

Maybe. At least now he can still get paid while he finds something better. I just hope that this was a wake up call for him and he decides to go out and do something meaningful.

Layoffs usually are accompanied with a severance. And many people have been telling him to look for a new job for months, and wacky is the type that sometimes needs a kick in the pants.

I really doubt a for-profit school is going to offer much of a severance package to their phone trolls, though.

You don't get a severance package when they tap you on the shoulder and take your headset.

I'll be ok you guys. I'll start looking soon. I'm just so comfy here, cause i've done it for awhile. Feels natural. Plus, if I want to get my Doctorate, they'll pay for it.

I would go for the doctorate, WC.  I mean, Dr. Kickball sounds like a guy I want to hang out with.
