Really got into cocktailing over quarantine.  I miss my local cocktail bars a lot! Here is another great gin cocktail:

Martinez
1.5oz old tom gin
1.5oz sweet vermouth
1 barspoon maraschino
2 dashes orange bitters
lemon peel for garnish
stirred, served up in coupe

The 50/50 martini is a great classic as well...

1.5oz gin
1.5oz blanc vermouth
dash of orange bitters
orange peel

Stirred

It’s funny how the standard amount of vermouth just gets less and less as the years go on.
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

Saturday I went to Mae's and had a double ketel and fresh squeezed lime juice with a lot of ice in a pint glass, then had a hamm's on the side and filled in the drink with hamms as I drank it.  Just wonderful and refreshing.

That's because dry vermouth is trash.

Espresso Parmesan Martini

Pinch of salt
1.5oz espresso
1.5oz vodka
.5oz coffee liqueur
.5oz simple syrup (I subbed a dry sherry on an IG real recommendation)
Garnish with freshly fine grated parmesan

This actually works really well.  Next one I make I am going to add a bit of sweetness to it.  Maybe not simple syrup but stirring in a drizzle of honey into hot espresso before adding to shaker.

I like booze, I like trying new booze drinks.....but at this moment in time I can't convince my brain to try a drink that has fresh grated parmesan cheese as a garnish.   :blindfold:

Think of it like dipping a biscotti in coffee.  The parmesan lends the same salty-nuttiness that biscotti does.

Interesting.  Was that a one off or is it something that can be found on the regular now?

Rieger Distilling has a coffee amaro that is the tits. You can probably find it in Texas. Pretty sure they distribute down there.

Yes.
Recently ordered a gin and cranberry juice with a lime wedge and they acted like that was the oddest combo ever.

They are just delicious and i'm not really a G and T fan. A couple of those followed by some tiny High Life's.

I pour out any gin that I can get my hands on. It’s not meant for consumption.

90% of the time I drink it's beer. But I'd have an occasional old fashioned/whiskey sour/Manhattan/etc.

I recently discovered Gin. I mean I knew it existed lol but I never really drank it. Gin and Tonic; great. Tom Collins; great. Negroni; great. I still haven't tried a gin martini but I'm sure it's great.

What other gin drinks should I try that are the bees knees. (<--- haha I know that's a gin drink but I haven't tried it lol)

Gin martini, a wash of vermouth and a crap load of olives
