Guys, be nice to TCUHornedfrog.

His team is new to the conference and he is just having some fun figuring out new names for teams like UTerus.

Just wait till he finds out about grapes, hayseeds, or even the mildcats. Fort Worth will break out into a riot!

Bret Bielema gave the 2 reasons why he left Wisconsin for Arkansas this morning:

1. Ability to have a 1 loss team, not make your conference championship game, and still have a good shot to be in the 4 team playoff.
2. Called out Wisconsin on his resources, mainly funds for assistant coaches.  Said the recent struggles at Wisconsin have been because he's lost a lot of good assistants because he couldn't pay them.  He claims to have lost 5-6 assistant good coaches because he wasn't allowed to pay any assistant more that $300,000.

The cheapness of the big 10 (outside of OSU) has always confounded me.

We hear how the Big 10 has these big schools with huge undergrad populations, enormous alumni numbers, large stadiums and among the best media contracts but here is a coach leaving a 2nd tier job for a 3rd tier job in another conference at least partially due to a couple of extra 100K for his assistants.  I guess the Big 10 really does need those cable homes in MD and NJ.

Those points are true, but I don't buy it that they were the reason he is leaving.  He grabbing the cash and restarting the clock.

So, really, who does Tech go get?

Tubs leaving for Cincy really does give the impression that Tech is not a great place to coach, doesn't it?

Let's leave Leavitt and Briles out if it...who do they go after

read some reports/tweets on shaggy they will go after Chad Morris, OC/QB coach at Clemson.
google has told me he was a longtime Texas HS head coach that went from Lake Travis to Tulsa as OC for 1 year and now is at Clemson making $1.3/yr :sdeek:

After leaning this if makes me wonder if Dabo's anti Big 12 comments were just smoke as his recent OC and DC hires would be ideal to join the Big Texas conference :dunno:

From Kirk Bohls:

@kbohls: The top three HC candidates at Texas Tech are Clemson OC Chad Morris, Texas A&M OC Kliff Kingsbury, new Cal HC Sonny Dykes, TT source says.

No way Dykes is leaving Cal.  They have a new stadium and are also located in a talent-rich state but without the disadvantage of being in Lubbock.

And if he starts winning there, some SEC team will pick him up in , what, 2 seasons? 1 season?

colorado hired san jose state's coach.

wku made a win-win hire.  lots of publicity and he'll probably do well for a couple of seasons before moving on.
