Isn't this the wild challenge you want the AD to go after.

Would it be so bad if he were to keep Sean on as the STC.  :billdance:

I really don't understand this boards fascination with Mark Mangino. I feel like it started out as some people trolling but other people didn't get that and just latched on. He's a marginal coach who is mean, smelly, ugly, and fat.

I would prefer him to just about every coach currently on our staff, with perhaps the exception of Dickey. He's coached some great offenses, is a good recruiter, and quite honestly did a remarkable job at Kansas. He is mean, smelly, ugly, and fat, though.

Remarkable, you see what his conference record was? How many coaching staffs has he been on and he's only been an OC for two years & that was so long ago we can conclude that what he did at OU was more Stoops and less Mangino. He couldn't even get an OC position at a FCS school.

Have you seen KU's conference record when he wasn't there?

I say his recruiting is what made him most valuable. I bet he gets some nice Iowa Jucos that we may also want.

So we can also call Ron Prince, Lynn Dickey, and Vince Gibson remarkable too? We'll see how well he recruits at ISU, it is certainly his greatest challenge since Iowa doesn't have the community college system that Kansas has.

I think you meant Jim Dickey.  Lynn Dickey was QB from 1968 to 1970.  Jim Dickey was HC from 1978 to 1985.  Darrell Ray Dickey was QB from 1979 to 1982.  Tasha Dickey played WBB in the 2011-2012 season.  And Charlie Dickey (her dad) is current OL coach.  Too many Dickeys to keep track of.   :runaway:

Jon Gruden is the only coach to have a winning record at Oakland since Art Shell/1995.  He's a good coach.

You mean the coaches don't build their own teams in the NFL like college?  :horrorsurprise:

http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball/eye-on-college-football/24402435/report-louisvilles-hiring-of-bobby-petrino-is-imminent

If hired he would join LHC Bill Snyder and Mike Riley at Oregon State as the only current BCS coaches serving non-consecutive tenures.  (I don't count Bo Pelini who coached Nebraska in the 2003 bowl game after Solich was fired.)

He didn't eff them over the first time, he left at seasons end for the Atlanta Falcons.
