Who would have been a slam dunk?  I think Chip Kelly, Nick Saban, Jimbo Fisher, Urban Meyer are the only ones that I can think of.

I agree. Although I think lots of folks consider Briles a "slam dunk".
I DON'T.  :Yuck:

Golden is a good dude, I'd hate to see him at PSU

For some reason I don't like Al. I'm not sure if it's the tie, the haircut, or the fact he's a bitch. I do like that he grabbed the job at, "the U," and did a decent job. Overall, I dislike him.

His ties and his long sleeve buttoned down dress shirts will work much better at Penn State.  He sweats pretty profusely and was always pitting out.  On the games he wants to mix in a sport jacket he'll have that option as well.

Texas Christian University coach Gary Patterson has been hired as Kansas State's 34th football coach, multiple sources have confirmed to GoPowercat.com.  Patterson replaces Ron Prince, who was fired Wednesday. - Tim Fitzgerald   Nov, 7, 2008

Penn State is so much of a better job than Miami it isn't even funny. I can't stand PSU but their facilities and alumni base and alumni giving makes Miami look like a 3A high school. Miami has poor facilities and support compared to the average cfb program, PSU is top 10 in both. Despite the sanctions they have 100,000 fans on Saturday.  There are some drawbacks to PSU like the Paterno Cult and State College is the smallest, most desolate major college town I've ever seen (imagine Fort Hays being a major D1 school). Despite this they get the first pick of high school players in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York.

Who does UL go after?  Would they dip their pen in Petrino again?

Why not? He didn't leave there in shame like he did from Arkansas and Atlanta.

Golden staying put.

ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports ex-Titans coach Mike Munchak will interview for Penn State's head-coaching vacancy on Monday.

Miami (FL) coach Al Golden was at one point considered the favorite in Happy Valley, but Penn State wants to give Munchak a long look, as well. The Titans are moving forward with their head-coaching search now after Munchak balked at firing his assistants, which was a prerequisite from the franchise for him to keep his job. He refused. Munchak played college ball at Penn State.

Fifteen minutes later, when the Kansas locker room opened its doors to the media, the Jayhawks were still crying. Literally, bawling. All of them. I've never seen anything like it, and I've seen devastated college locker rooms -- after losses in the Final Four, the national championship game -- ever

Am I missing something, is there a reason Tressels name hasn't been thrown out anywhere?
