My cousin's ex husband posts similar stuff only less dramatic. Don't think it's normal.  I've had to ponder how I will approach baby boy Emo hunting, and at this point I believe that I cannot allow him to take a life until he understands the significance of it.  That could be age 5 (probably not), could be 16.  Probably somewhere between.

that's another thing, it was clearly injured or something and not able to move at that point. so i'm guessing someone shot the squirrel and while it was sitting there dying someone said "hey y'all let's let this 5 year old kid get her first kill woooo-eee!"
