A lil upset about that, but yeah, in two years I'd be really pissed, right now, beating bama would be better than anything else and ending the season ranked higher than them would be amazeballs

Do we get the Alabama JV or an angry Bama looking to “prove” they belong in the CFP? I think we win either way.

A straight up game vs them would be super interesting, our numbers are very close. If it's a JV game we obv should win. Regardless I doubt they will be as motived as we are whether they have something to prove or no.

The thing I am most interested to see is how we do from a coaching standpoint, I really want to know how we stack up.

A win and we're probably a top 10 team to start next year, which is  :lynchmob:

If they come in motivated, the real question will be how they react when we punch them in the mouth.

That%u2019s not the Troy we have to play next year at #12 right mocat?

the one and only.
we played the eventual AAC champ this year (tulane), and next year we will play the defending sun belt champ (troy), who coincidentally will play the CUSA champ (UTSA) in their bowl game next week. should be a nail biter

let's compare resumes for our future elephantine opponents

#5 alabama (off/def rank: #9/#3)

at #4 tennessee L 49-52
at #8 texas W 20-19
at #15 lsu L 31-32
at #28 mississippi W 30-24
vs #29 mississippi st W 30-6
vs #54 auburn W 49-27
at #61 arkansas W 49-26
vs #73 texas a&m W 24-20
vs #101 utah st W 55-0
vs #107 vanderbilt W 55-3
vs #112 louisiana-monroe W 63-7
vs FCS austin peay W 34-0

sos rank = #57

#10 kansas st (off/def rank: #21/#13)

at #7 tcu L 28-38
vs #7 tcu W 31-28
vs #8 texas L 27-34
vs #9 tulane L 10-17
vs #39 kansas W 47-27
at #40 oklahoma W 41-34
at #52 baylor W 31-3
vs #60 texas tech W 37-28
vs #64 missouri W 40-12
vs #67 oklahoma st W 48-0
at #78 iowa st W 10-9
at #83 west virginia W 48-31
vs FCS south dakota W 34-0

sos rank: #14

these are very similar resumes, imo:
lost two barnburners each to top 15 opponents
one slugfest vs top 10 opponent (bama won theirs vs texas; ksu lost theirs vs tulane)
one blowout home win vs top 40 opponent
one close road win vs top 40 opponent
games vs teams worse than 50: all blowout wins, except one narrow escape (vs texas a&m / iowa st, respectively)
34-0 win vs FCS school
only difference is KSU was given one more opportunity vs a top 10 opponent and won in OT.

rushing YPP ranks
alabama off/def: #6/#24
kansas st off/def: #23/#85

passing YPP ranks
alabama off/def: #38/#3
kansas st off/def: #50/#23

total YPP ranks
alabama off/def: #13/#5
kansas st off/def: #35/#50

PPP ranks
alabama off/def: #5/#9
kansas st off/def: #26/#14

- the biggest thing that jumps out is alabama's #6 rushing attack vs kstate's #85 rushing defense. hopefully their entire O line declares for the draft or something.
- kstate's passing numbers are obviously not representative of the offense once wowitzer took over, so it will be interesting to see how Klein is able to attack a #3 ranked passing defense, who are only allowing 5.6 yards per attempt on the season as a group.

snowbrag went 28-13 overall in bowl szn. i just went and looked at all the moneyline values for each game, and if i would have placed a $10 ML bet on every bowl ($410 total wagered), i'd only be up $34. not great

wagering $410 to win $34 is the equivalent of winning a single bet with -1190 odds, lmao

What if you had taken the points based on the handicapping from snowbrags output?

We should, we'll be probably no less than 3rd in the Big 12 preseason IMO

This will be something you will need to be accustomed to when we become the dominant leader of the Big 12.  Soak it in. :lynchmob:
Fifteen minutes later, when the Kansas locker room opened its doors to the media, the Jayhawks were still crying. Literally, bawling. All of them. I've never seen anything like it, and I've seen devastated college locker rooms -- after losses in the Final Four, the national championship game -- ever

Final AP is #14, probably about right. We'll also I think be pretty close to that or in the 17ish area to start next year.

14 in the coaches poll as well.  Heard Jim Mora and Hugh Freeze didn't even include KSU in their top 25  :curse:

Mora hates KSU.  Got into an argument with LHCBS after losing the Holiday bowl because he was upset that the score was run up.  He was a head of crap in the NFL too.

It was the 2015 Alamo Bowl.  I think he was upset because his UCLA team was in a victory formation and our guys were trying to still get a turnover.

Too lazy to look it up but I wonder when the last time we were ranked preseason. 2015?
