For consideration... we have never escaped September without a loss during the Klieman tenure.

Don’t forget about November

Last 4 regular season games:
2019 2-2, 8-4
2020 0-4, 4-6
2021 2-2, 7-5
2022 3-1, 9-3
2023 2-2, 8-4
2024 1-3, 8-4

Stumble down the stretch to 8-4.  That’s our MO.

Two losses in September and one in November sounds about right for us.

I don't know if there is enough beer in Ireland to comfort me after taking a cross Atlantic flight to watch a loss.  This is one of two reasons I am not going.  The other being legroom for a bagillion hours in the air.

Can you imagine being on an international flight with all of those musty Iowa people?  Pee Yew.

It's too bad first class isn't smell isolated.

Man I wish that wasn’t true but man that’s true

That's college football. We aren't appreciably better than the teams in the bottom quarter of the conference so it stands to reason that losing to one of them is a possibility. If Ohio State, Texas, and Georgia struggle against mid ass teams, stands to reason that a team that's somewhere around the 15th-22nd best team in the country could lost to one that's kind of assy.

I don't get the mindset of thinking we have to go 11-1 or 10-2 but okay with not being preseason top 10. Indiana was 11-1 and finished 8th, they didn't see the AP poll until week 6. If we go 11-1 we will have a very Iowa State type season oif getting a lot of favorable bounces in 1 score wins. We aren't good enough to steamroll our way to the Big 12 championship game, no team in this conference is.

I don’t necessarily disagree with any of that, but I think it has less to do with parity and more to do with painting a masterpiece one week and then the next we can’t even scribble inside the lines. And it’s not like we got out schemed it’s like we’re just tripping over our own dicks for no reason. I get that’s just how it goes sometimes, but for us it would be incredibly weird if that didn’t happen. The dick-tripping, specifically. Obviously there will be games we’re out gunned and out classed and of course we will get brushed aside. But you can bet every farm there’s going to be a game we’re -17.5 and end up losing by at least 2 scores

The national champions got beat at home in their final home game against a 6-5 team and scored 10 pts doing it

Geez facts. Really the entire special teams. I don't expect us to get back to LHC Bill Snyder 2.0 levels of special teams, but last year it was a decided negative. I just want us to be slightly positive. Just everything from missing FGs/XPs, to mid punting to mid punt returning probably cost us on average 3 points a game.
