re: HBO Go. HBO is staring a Netflix type streaming service, independent of HBO channel subscription, starting next summer, iirc. The whole does-my-cable-co-qualify question is 8 months from being moot.

Is google fiber preferable to most who've had u-verse for cable TV? We've reached the point of no return on scheduling our google installation. We've had mostly good experiences with U-verse.

don't attention to 'clams, he's a n00b when it comes to networking and cable stuff.

I've never had google fiber but u-verse is ok. lots of people have had bad experiences with them but essentially they are the same thing, except AT&T did a super shitty job with theirs.

my biggest complaint against Google fiber is that it doesn't have Time Warner Sports Channel so I miss out on the early season Hawks hoops games

i reported my fiber cable tv being out and it took two weeks for them to figure out what to tell me, let alone send someone to fix it. so i had no tv for 15 days. i requested updates pretty much every day and not once did they reach out to me first. they're not making me pay for those days but it was not a very good customer service showing on their part.

well, the good news is that i'm here and i have it. maybe they just trust me a little more than they trust you.
i read online that they only issued the new remote (which is very elite), to their most trusted of testers. obvs i received mine and it works like a dream! you wouldn't believe how much i change the channel since receiving the new controller.
