the people on the free crap still have it for many more years, i think the original deal was a 7 year commitment from google.
just not available to new customers.  i think the new plan looks pretty good but why not just spend the extra $20 a month and go full bore?

That's what I'm saying 'clams...if you're paying the $50/month for the crappy, just pay the extra $20 bucks and go gigabit.

I mean, while I agree in principal with that, 100 Mbps isn't "crappy" IMHO. Still way more than most people anywhere can get.

Yeah I was paying like $60/mo for 15 mb/s before we switched. $50 for 100 is an incredible deal and you know twc is losing their minds about it.

When I called to switch twc asked what they could do keep me, I said nothing I'm getting Google. Their response "oh"  *click*

It takes like 15 Mbps to stream 4k TV.   So unless you're streaming 6+ 4k movies at a time, 100 Mbps is probably sufficient.

ya either his computer sucks and isn't fast enough to process the speed, or his computer doesn't have a gig ethernet card,  or google mumped up his install.  my guess is that his computer is a pos.

i daisy chain my google network box into a apple airport extreme and get 700/600 over wifi

i might just stick with TW tho, it's cheaper and there's pretty much no reason for a person to need gigabit right now.  50mbs is overkill for me already

you don't need it, but you already pay for more data than you need so this doesn't surprise me.
