The problem is that Fox owns all of our cable rights, and they don't have enough mechanisms to distribute the content.  Between the Pac-12 and Big 12, and C-USA to a certain degree, they're going to be loading FSN with games all day.  FX will get at least one.  ABC already splits viewership for prime viewing windows.  Selling and swapping content between Fox and ABC/ESPN just means someone's going to get paid for games that were just going to be collecting dust on pay-per-view or some Tier 3 network.
Is it possible we could have a Big12 conference game that is only on ESPN3?  I don't believe that has happened before, has it?  Seems like in the past conference games have been pay per view or no TV (KSU@BU in '10)
I remember when we played ULL on ESPN3 but can't recall any two Big 12 teams battling it out on ESPN3

i think ULL broadcast that on some satellite channel back in Louisiana, that's why it was on ESPN3

i guess what i'm getting at is that someone somewhere has to be broadcasting the game for it to show up on espn3.  there isn't an espn3 crew that they send to games.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

Correct.  As it was a non-con game that we were playing in the Sun Belt, that conference owned the rights to it.  Good catch.

We played North Texas on ESPN 3 as well, and they're a Sun Belt team. Could be that ESPN3 is a common carrier of their games.

it was there under the upcoming live broadcasts, both the Mo St and the Miami game were listed but now they aren't.

if you go to the fb schedule, it's now listed under "Coverage" for the Mo State game

@brettregan K-StateHD.TV will air the Wildcats' season opener against Missouri State on September 1.

K-State's first three football games will air to a full national audience, including an appearance on FX for its highly anticipated matchup with Miami, as the Big 12 Conference announced today television selections for the opening weeks of the season.

The Wildcats' September 1 season opener against Missouri State will be aired live exclusively to a world-wide audience on K-StateHD.TV, before FX crews head to Manhattan the following week for the 11 a.m. matchup with the Hurricanes. Closing out the non-conference schedule will be a full national telecast on FSN   when North Texas heads to LHC Bill Snyder Family Stadium on September 15 for a 6 p.m. contest. Television selections for the remaining nine games will be announced 12 days prior to each contest.

The sold-out matchup with Missouri State is slated for a 6:10 p.m. kick from LHC Bill Snyder Family Stadium and K-StateHD.TV programming will begin at 5:10 p.m. with its K-State Gameday show featuring Brian Smoller and former Wildcat great and 2012 College Football Hall of Fame inductee Mark Simoneau.

To visit the home of K-StateHD.TV, or to subscribe to the service, go to www.k-statehd.tv. The subscription service remains a product of K-State's All-Access platform through the CBS College Network so current subscribers will have immediate access to the game and additional content.

For those interested in subscribing to K-StateHD.TV, which will feature live game broadcasts as well as premium content such as original K-State shows, game replays and press conferences, the service is available for $9.95 per month and $79.95 per year

In a landmark announcement by university and athletics officials last August, K-StateHD.TV has provided a world-wide connection to Kansas State University and K-State Athletics and established the university as an international leader in programming, accessibility and exposure. In fact, K-StateHD.TV is the nation's No. 1 premium digital network following a year that saw K-State rank at the top of CBS's premium platform in terms of number of subscriptions for a member institution.

The full lineup of K-State HD.TV programming for the 2012-13 academic and athletics season will be announced soon as the network continues to help maximize the national exposure for both the university and athletics program. Live athletic events, all produced in high definition, as well as classic athletic games, game replays, press conferences, original programming and on-campus lectures and/or performances will once again highlight the year's schedule.

For a full list of programming options, including over 650 on-demand video productions from last season, visit www.k-statehd.tv.

Television Selections for September 1-15
Missouri State at K-State, 6:10 p.m., K-StateHD.TV
Miami at K-State, 11 a.m., FX
North Texas at K-State, 6 p.m., FSN

It's wasn't great last year, but it's something, and hopefully Simoneau is more comfortable this year.  It's a pretty nice set up with the field in the background and they have cameras that show warmups.

Is it me, or does the picture on FX always seem to be a little bit better, even with today's high definition standardization than everybody else, including ESPN??

Maybe it's just DirectTV.

iirc ABC/ESPN was still broadcasting in 720P while a lot of the other networks were full HD.  Don't know if that's still the case or not though.

Brian:  Mark, it’s a sunny day in Manhattan, Kansas; couldn’t ask for a better evening to play football, could you?

Mark :  Hi Brian.  Yes, it was sunny today.   But the sun should go down after awhile.  And then it won’t be as sunny.  When the sun goes down.  But the sun will come back up tomorrow.

neither of which are full HD.  /pwnt  /thread
