So based on the flashforward, Walt either faked his own death, or is a fugitive, or both, right?

And the Heisenberg spray painted in the living room seems to have Jesse written all over it.

I had forgotten about the size of that freaking gun in the trunk, though. Walt is going up against something BIG. Seems a little late in the series for another drug cartel to come into the picture. Hank and the DEA?

I've said it before and I'll say it again, K-State fans could have beheaded the entire KU team at midcourt, and K-State fans would be celebrating it this morning.  They are the ISIS of Big 12 fanbases.

it's interesting to go back and watch the beginning of the first episode of season 5 (denny's scene).  first time through i just picked up on the obvious - new hampshire tags on the volvo (ha!), but had forgotten that his D/L was also NH and he was using skyler's maiden name.

what set of circumstances led him to (ostensibly) hide out in NH, and what flushed him back out?  seems like it could be any number of people/groups at this point... :users:

So it's a pretty well known theory that Walt takes on the traits of the people that he kills. He started cutting off his crusts after he killed Krazy 8, getting rocks in his whiskey after he killed Mike, and doing basically everything like Gus after he killed him (even throwing up like him in the last episode). So in that flash forward scene he puts his bacon on his eggs in the shape of the number 52 like Skyler does on his 50th and 51st birthday, and has taken her middle name.

please god let this happen.  i've wanted this for five seasons.

faking his death seems possible. might explain even more his neighbor's (carol?) reaction to seeing him.

definitely seems possible/wise.  can't quite convince myself of the circumstances of how the old house was left, kinda need to know more.  jr off to college, skyler dead/moved elsewhere?  really wants that ricin to tactically off someone instead of taking his "brute force" approach - seems there's maybe several targets. scorched earth on a smallish group?

Walt is clearly on the run in the flashforward scenes. Hank will out him at some point, probably once Skylar dies via Walt or the Czechs

I think what my friend Mitch is trying to say is that true love is blind.

All that means is that he's off the chemo. He sure looks like a dying man to me.

well he does still have a slight cough in the bathroom at denny's and clearly takes a pill.  i'd imagine the cancer just accelerates his decision-making timeline.

speaking of timeline, because i always forget, his 52nd was at denny's as stevesie mentioned.  his 50th was the pilot episode, and 51st was the small "pool party" in season 5

here we go:

skyler is guilty with walt, an accomplice, so when crap hits the fan she surprisingly takes his side. skyler dies via a gunshot wound fired by the DEA as they are trying to escape and the car they are in plunges into a river. walt escapes and everybody thinks he drowned in the river. he moves to new hampshire where he finds out the cancer is definitely going to kill him. he comes back, buys the big ass gun, and goes down in a blaze of glory at DEA headquarters. :gocho:

(i do not know what is going to happen to the kids or jesse.)

(or lydia)

If that gun is used on hank, Jesse, or the deal, it will be the worst decision ever and taint the series.

Hank holds off for a bit but then starts going after Walt.  Skyler decides to turn under pressure to testify against Walt.  Walt kills her and goes on the run or fakes his own death.

One person/group going after Walt seems a little bit "small" for how this has amped up in the last few seasons.  I think a group of Walt's enemies are going after him and he is trying to take them out at once.

love the part in "live free or die" when they're talking about the free breakfast w/ valid id and walt initially declines.  then the waitress says "even if I was, like, rich, free is always good".  forks over id.

walt's tired of hiding.

This is the best guess that I've seen that didn't appear first on this blog.

Quote from: Chuck Klosterman on Grantland, Last Friday
Klosterman: OK, there's a scene, I think it was — I'm pretty sure it was in the previous season. It may have even been two seasons ago, but I'm pretty sure it was in the last season, but Walter White goes to see Saul, and he's looking for something. And I can't even remember exactly what he's looking for. If you watched it more recently, you may remember it, and at one point, Saul thinks that everything can collapse, so he's like, "Look there's this thing we can do. It'll cost a lot of money, but I can make you disappear, like you will be gone, and you can't contact your family, you can't contact anyone, but you know, there's no going back if you do this." And then Walter White was like, "That's not what I'm here for!" He was like looking for money or looking for a gun or something.

Simmons: Right.

Klosterman: But there's no way that Vince Gilligan includes that dialogue if it's not going to happen. And I think that's what's going to happen. I think that everything is going to collapse, and Walter White is going to go to Saul, and he's going to say, "I need to disappear for real," and he's going to disappear, and then he's going to come back. Because the ultimate thing will be that you cannot actually walk away from a moral choice.

My guess after reading a million previews?

Hank: dead
Skyler: dead
Lydia: dead
Walt Jr.: dies of a heart attack at age 18
Walt: uses the trick mentioned above, but goes back to rescue Jesse from someone/something. Walt dies in the process, either saving Jesse or because Jesse kills him.
Jesse: lives?

That scene was actually added at the last second (literally filmed the week before it aired) to set up Crawl Space. So yeah, I guess it wasn't added for no reason, but I think the reason has already happened.

yeah, i think after the first episode of 5b "enough" has happened already for walt to preserve himself and get that authentic NH lifestyle.  obviously we're dealing with walt though, so i'm curious to see how much more bad crap has to go down before he gets wise and splits for a while.

surely loose cannon lydia must factor in more?  she's already in a bad spot with the shitty product being manufactured, and i can't imagine that walt has any more free time on his hands to turn her down after the hank situation.  any possibility that after walt disappears, lydia rolls when the czechs are breathing down her neck and she can't get walt or jesse to save her ass, and tries to pull something with walt's family?  maybe saul gets pressed to contact walt when the situation gets ugly?  this would mean walt flipping back over to "family-first" though, which i dunno if feels likely in this show (thank god)

this obviously leaves out jesse though.  maybe this line of thinking sucks and i'll make up another plan in a day or two.  yup, that'll probably happen.  throwing crap at a wall over here.

this is too fun  :)

Know what's weird? I don't even want to read people's guesses. I want to go in a completely blank slate. I think I'm gonna skip over most posts that include any predictos because I don't even want anything on my mind as a possibility. Not making any predictos in my head. Simply want it all to wash over me and catch me by surprise no matter what.

Holy crap.

This might be the only show that gets exponentially better each season
