My office is frequently hiring for what I'd consider to be non-4-year-degree jobs (basically just helping me kick ass). We get tons of applicants who've recently graduated from ku and wsu, and I have no idea why they're applying for this hourly wage job that couldn't possibly be what one imagined they'd do after college. I've turned GED former construction workers into capable assistants here. Other managers tell me it's the economy and that we're lucky to have these college-educated applicants. I maintain these are people who either really mumped up and never once went to their equivalent of Holtz Hall, or maybe nobody hires squawks/shocks, because we don't get, nor do I know, EMAW grads in career limbo.
Am I wrong?
