the stick to pintrest comment has me  pretty good, especially after i saw lopak has the language filter on.

great stuff, guys. lets get back to whiskey. i had some knob creek in mint juleps the other day, probably the best julep ive had.

Thanks man, I was wondering why so many words were censored.  Just figured out how to turn off the language filter.

I do love a good mint julep.

One of my clients is Chivas. I'm hoping they fly me out there to meet them and I take back crates of the 18 year.

:bartender: This is very interesting, Wackycat. Tell us about some of your other clients.

At least he changed his username.

There's something about bourbon that makes you want to sip and breath it out through your nose. Very satisfying.

Tough question.  Both are very good but I prefer the sherry.   The 18 year old sherry is the best Macallan I've ever had and the 12 year sherry oak is typically my go to because it's reasonably priced at $55.00.  For the fine oak collection I like the 15 yr fine better than the 17 yr.  It's not always about the age.

Don't put ice in your single malt, rubes
I'll generally allow a single ice cube to accompany 2 fingers of uisce.  A little bit of water helps bring out the flavor.

And the correct answer everyone, is Basil Hayden

Ice is acceptable if enjoying outdoors on a warm night.

I like to have a glass of water on the side, I just can't bring myself to add water to a single malt.

Anyone tried Wild Turkey Forgiven?

Wild Turkey and Rare Breed are two of my staples. Love them.

But the name and story of Forgiven have really put me off. Mainly because I don't know how accurate these bourbons like Devil's Cut are true to the seemingly bullshit story about them. Especially a bourbon claiming that it was a messed up batch but it actually turned out great! So now we have tons of bottles of it to sell!

You realize that single malt scotch is barreled at a higher strength than what comes in the bottle, and they pour water into the mixture before bottling and capping and selling to you for big $$$ so you can talk about how much better it is "straight" than with any additional water.

But to each his own, as long as you're drinking whiskey, you're doing it right.

Cask Strength scotch is fun.  Glenmorange has one (astar?) that's delicious and 123 proof to boot.

I also enjoy BH, but when I found out it was made by Jim Beam it kind of spoiled it for me.

Macallan has a decent cask strength bottle.  Never had the Glenmorangie one.  I do have a bottle of Glenmorangie 18 year that I'm pretty disappointed in.
