A dude pole-vaulter knocked the bar off with his dong a few days ago. Sorry if luke’d
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

Just read an article on this dude this morning. He gets paid extra every time he breaks the WR so he makes sure he only moves it one centimeter at a time if he's feeling it so he can break it again at a future meet. Even said he said he doesn't care how high he goes as long as he breaks it and gets paid. Stud

I normally get a bit burnt out on all the human interest pieces they have during the Olympics but NBC did a really interesting piece about him last night. His mom is from Sweden and met his dad when they were both track athletes at LSU. Dad was a college pole vaulter and he had a setup in his backyard where he started to learn as a kid. Dad coaches him on the technical aspects of vaulting and mom is his personal trainer. He has been learning Swedish but it is hard to learn in Sweden because everyone there speaks English so easily. Seems like a very cool athlete and family.

I don't know the laws about desecrating German flags but their fan club is handing them out like candy and I want to stomp the crap out of all of them

Not Olympics related but Lyon completely rules and I lol'd at this collection of three Boston themed establishments on the main square

Had no idea! It's a really weird crowd. No way to really consolidate a supporter section with the way they sold tickets and it's really quiet between action. Interestingly they covered up all the ribbon boards so the only easy to see the time is these tiny jumbotrons in the corner. No other scoreboards in the place!

How do those seats compare to, say, a Cat cushion at BSFS?

They are very spacious, I think because of champions League rules. Granted it isn't crowded but still

And we now have props

This German guy with the German hair came from like two sections over to say "Zere's somzing missing" and try to get his German flag in their shot lol

Lyon was surprisingly cool. Completely unintentionally I had a 5th floor corner hotel room with the church directly outside my window. And smash Burger joint is right next to the boston square! I sat out there for like an hour watching the kids play soccer.

All 3 American men advance to the 400M final

Cole Hocker wins the 1500M for Team USA

Syd and Anna Cockrell into the 400M hurdle finals without breaking a sweat.

Heard that hundreds of spectators at Stade de France had to be treated for retinal burns caused by the radiant glory of Gabby's smile:

Yeah, I loved Lyon. Might be my favorite city I've visited in Europe!
