Anything new and fun people have been to recently? I'm hanging with some friends that are a bit fancier than me and Mrs SF. We like bars and breweries and they are more of the cocktail crowd. I'm trying to find a spot that's a good mix of both so I don't have to sit in a nice steakhouse or whatever for 3 hours and $600. I've steered them to Jims Alley, Hanks, and the oyster place in Brookside before and i'm running out of ideas.

Could try Muni, Enzo, Afterwords (no food), Kon Tiki, Mineral Lounge, Fern Bar, Fox & Pearl, Bar Medici, Murmation (mostly a coffee shop recently expanded to more food/booze), Lowest Ferns, Conductor Club (haven't been), J. Rieger places (one indoor, one outdoor)

Campground is fairly casual but nice, good cocktails, and not too pricey.

This would be my recommendation.  Very cool spot.  Too cool for me, really.  But if you're looking to impress out-of-towners at a cocktail place, that would be my rec.

I've tried everything on the menu at every one of these places and if I could give them all negative 10 stars I would. That's how bad kc pizza is i hate kc pizza, I am so jealous of other cities that have good pizza.

People who obsess about how good their pizza is are weird to me. It's pizza, there is like 5 degrees of separation between domino's/pizza hut/shuttle/etc or cici's all you can eat buffet and Minsky's or Providence.

Like yeah, Minksy's and Providence 51 are better but are they THAT much better to be 3x the cost? (Not IMO)

The difference between Spin and Dominos is enough to nearly say that they aren't even both pizza.

Benji obv likes gross pizza, but I think his examples are just wrong. Maybe this is a better comparison. Is there really that much of a difference between a good slice at Tascio or KC comparable and a good slice at a good place in NY? Sure it's better, but I don't think the difference is that big. Def not like comparing dominos to basically any other pizza.

I think that there are comfort food pizzas that are not good but scratch a nostalgic itch - like Kraft Mac & Cheese does for me sometimes although it's clearly a shitty version of Mac & Cheese.  Then there are genuinely good pizzas (and mac & cheeses). ben ji is incredibly wrong, sure, but maybe his nostalgia pizza itch needs scratching more than he needs a good meal.

Also, I don't know the ben Ji kid sitch but I can't imagine paying more for a bunch of nice pizzas when the little gremlins would just as soon eat some bullshit.

I don't know that it's the 32x best burger in KC as they advertise, but the Westport Flea Market burger is quite good
