Yea, only got to go there once.  Really enjoyed.  Seemed like a tough place to make it work though

I thought Gram & Dun was good as eff. Pot Pie is legit depending on the size of the group.

I enjoyed it.  clams wouldn't stop talking about how much it sucked though.

i have since done a complete 180 on the place.  actually- since like the weekend after we were there.  when i could see.  and taste.  and walk, etc.  i love the place.  a++ happy hours, ebayer.

their Dark & Stormy's are great.
I tried one of these at harrys in mhk a few months back.  I mean is this a cruel joke on unsuspecting victims like "have a kites burger they are great!"
I highly doubt anyone in MHK knows how to make one, had it been poured correctly, you would have had no choice but to love it
it was dreadful, I felt like judge dredd was going to pop out of nowhere and lay down the law

Geebus, if you want to look like you're not trying too hard but still want a great meal.  Go to RJ's at Lamar and Johnson Ave.  Usually not busy and has the best BBQ around.  that is all/thread

Geebus

Do you say "Geebus" because saying "Jesus" is considered swearing?

it's really not that good.  if you've been to a really good italian restaurant you would realize this and not fall on a sword defending it.
but go ahead and accept mediocrity, it's what midwesterns do best.

The guy who was the chef left a while ago anyways. He opened a butcher shop in the East Bottoms called Local Pig. It's fantastic.

Lydia's isn't bad, but how anyone could go there when Garrozo's and Cascone's exist is beyond me.

I like all three for different meals/reasons.  :dunno:

Kinda like BBQ.  I don't think one is the best, I like many for their diff specialties.

Cactus Grill

I don't need a menu.  Chips and espenaca with a monterey chicken burrito pollo magnifico please and thank you

Pierpoints has a nice little bar menu, but can be tough to get a seat sometimes on a Friday or Saturday night.

If you like German-ish food, try Grunauer.

Animal recommends the Olive Garden at 95th and Metcalf, but be sure to make your rezzie early.

Rieger Hotel is an interesting experience. Too small for a large group...could be decent date spot but can get pretty noisy. Kitchen is kinda out in the open at the back.

There's a new Peanut in downtown OP, BTW, for those who worship their wings.

i've been twice.
the first time i just got some jalapeno bacon.  it was basically incredible.
then three weeks ago i picked up two pork shoulders, two slabs of ribs, some spicy  sausage, and two campo lindo chickens.

they literally brought the pig in and will slaughter the pig right in front of you.  all in all, it's pretty kick rough ridin' ass but it's expensive.

Did the pig squeal like a little bitch or did it take it like a boss?

michigancat,

Catching up on Carolla podcasts.  A month ago or so he was in KC for a show and on the podcast thereafter, he raved about oklahoma joe's IN A GAS STATION IN A STRIP MALL.

The gas station is stand alone, but it is next to strip mall.
