harp bbq is now open in op
it’s so delicious
What did you get?
his brisket is the star of the show, great burnt ends, ribs, and sausage too. best of those three categories in town.

sides are pretty good not jackstack level though

$36 for one (1) pound of brisket, lol.  bbq is becoming more expensive than fine dining

Slaps is $26/lb, q39 is $28, jack stack $26, joe's $22, etc.

not saying it's not better than those places, probably is (haven't been there yet).  price seems insane.

i think I paid $34 a pound at Franklin this summer.  it is what it is.  personally i’d rather eat at harp versus capital grille.  but that fine dining is going to cost you $60+ per pound, so i’m not sure I agree with meow meows comment.

the other places mentioned are basically overpriced dog food

harp
wolfepack
chef j

meat mitch has been pretty bad lately but historically good
slaps
q39

the rest is all indistinguishable from one another

brisket is pretty difficult to be consistent with. even the best places in kc, who are simply doing their best impression of texas style brisket, are subject to off days.

the crap that joe’s serves as brisket is embarrassing.

Hey guys, I don't get to the big cities often but the Mrs. and I have a date night scheduled there in a couple weeks. We recently discussed that neither of us have had beef wellington before. Is there a place in KC that would make such an outlandish dish?

Novel or green dirt but beef Wellington specifically gotta go to Gordon Ramsey at Harrah's.
i’ve heard good things about GR’s restaurant but can’t find the time to go
The best thing at Steak at Harrah's is the sticky toffee pudding. The Beef Wellington is good but I would rather have the filet on its own than Wellington, personally.

Did Jack Stack in OP tonight after the Chiefs game. KC combo w/ sausage, lamb ribs, crown prime beef rib, cheesey corn and beans. Also did apps of burnt ends and jalapeno cornbread.

Cornbread - 6.5/7
Burnt Ends - 4.5/7
Sausage - 3/7
Lamb ribs - 6/7
Crown Prime Beef Rib - 7/7
Cheesy Corn - 7/7
Baked Beans - 7/7

The sides and unique meats definitely save them but overall an enjoyable experience.
