If you mean Island Spice, yes.

I do and that's great news. I really enjoyed that place. Pancho's is another of my frequent visits back when I lived in that hood.

succotash has good brunch. oh man that salmon wrap.

Saw the Golden Ox on a Wal-Mart steak commercial last night. Golden Ox is kind of fun/quirky to go to but the food isn't good at all.

the service at succotash does not make up for the average brunch they serve, it's like the peanut of breakfast joints

The panty dropper (aka Melting Pot).

i've always thought of bodega as the panty dropper

Tie between bodega and JJ's (before West Edge) as the panty dropper.

Lydia's is garbage.  Also, I concur that La Bodega is fantastic.  Lulu's is great as well.

lydia's isn't garbage but it's not good italian.  it's not bad, but it's not good.  average?

carmen's is the best italian in town, maybe tied with osteria il centro

Majestic for Sunday breakfast is the best breakfast in town.

 Sister-in-law lives 1/2 a block away.  Nothing better than getting up after a night of paking and walking 1/2 a block to Majestic for brunch.
I got a guy on the other line about some white walls

Blue Grotto in Brookside is great for pizza, if you're into that.

West Side Local might be my favorite restaurant in the city. I know the person that grows the vegetables they use, which makes it that much better to me.

La bodega is pretty great (the original, not the one in Leawood)

Room 39 has a great (the best) brunch. Again, not the one in Leawood.

edited to include:

Bluestem, should go without saying.

Potpie (right next to bluestem) it is delicious, try it.

and, R bar in the west bottoms. best drinks in the city, and probably one of the best menus also.

their Dark & Stormy's are great.
I tried one of these at harrys in mhk a few months back.  I mean is this a cruel joke on unsuspecting victims like "have a kites burger they are great!"

I thought Gram & Dun was good as eff. Pot Pie is legit depending on the size of the group.

I highly doubt anyone in MHK knows how to make one, had it been poured correctly, you would have had no choice but to love it

That sucks. I have a friend that will make sure he to lets me know that he hates my places that I suggest every time we're out. I like to go to margaritas cause my family went there a lot when I was a kid. He hates it. I like PF Changs orange chicken. It's the worst thing he's ever had. I like mamas 39th st for breakfast. He thinks the service is unbearable. But he sure will tell you how great IHOP is.  :dubious:

of those not mentioned, Pierponts is great for steaks/upscale.

Lydia's sucks.   Carmens is good.

Lulu's or Blue Koi for asian/fusion
