I decided not to email, but I agree with Goddard that we should not do it.

We can play an opponent like UNLV in the Sprint Center (2010-11 season). It was nationally televised (ESPN2). It was filled with 18,400 K-State fans.

We can play an opponent like MU in the Sprint Center. It will likely be nationally televised. It will likely be split 50/50 between KSU and MU fans.

If our choices are a) play a good noncon opponent and have it be a purple celebration, or b) play MU and have it be a purple/black/gold celebration, the choice is obvious.

Besides, Missouri's biggest regrets about going to the SEC are the fact that they have to sever all of their historical ties and that they are in danger of seeing their relevance in the KC media decline. Why give them exactly what they want/need? We can get what we want on our own without having to involve them (attendance, exposure, money). Why share it with them? Why help them out? It makes no sense. Schedule UNLV in the Sprint again. Schedule Marquette. Schedule Syracuse, like was talked about a few months ago. Why would Missouri be considered a good idea? Playing Mizzou in the Sprint Center would have more drawbacks for K-State than playing virtually any other power-conference school in the country.

And besides #2, it would be a good show of solidarity with our conference to stay away from Missouri and the other schools that tried like hell to screw this conference over.

If we really want to play MU, do it in Wichita.

I could see this as an important issue to many people. Better to voice your opinion to ADJC now than bitch later. Doubt he minds reading a short well reasoned email at all.

I feel strongly about this, as do many K-Staters, so I sent a short email expressing how I felt. Sorry if that offends some here.

I think it was a perfectly reasonable thing to do as long as you didn't threaten your donation or his job while you were in the process. Doubt he thought anything negative about it.

I have no problem with it and I agree 100% -- there is absolutely no reason for us to even consider playing MU. Especially in KC. It would benefit them more than us. They're hope is that the Big 12 implodes and we end up in a mid-major conference. No one can ever convince me otherwise. We owe them nothing.

Yup! Their feelings about KSU and the rest of the Big XII are abundantly clear. They and their fans (closet and otherwise)need to quit whining about this and get on with the life they've chosen. Maybe we can get them to tell us, again, how great their choice was.

Good for you. I hope you also mentioned Nebraska. I do not want to ever play them again either. I doubt we would play A&M. Colorado, for some reason, I never felt ill-will toward and they are so bad that I would not mind playing them.

You people crack me up ... it's the AD's job to converse and deal w/ the thoughts and feelings of the school's fan base, and part of that is answering emails. Given that it was worded in a constructive manner there is absolutely nothing wrong w/ voicing a thought or concern to your AD ... in fact, if ADJC is worth anything, he would want and expect a fan base to give him their opinions. Nothing worse than a fan base that doesn't care, but then bitches when something doesn't get done how they want ...

Its like MU was a roommate and decided to move out.  They then left the house with a fire going in their room and not giving a crap if they burned the place down.  We were in that house.

If he tried to burn my house down, yes.  Which is what Mizzou did.  They potentially put us and other Big12 schools in the rough ridin' Mountain West so they could make 10% more (if even).  While they are welcome to do what they want, eff them if they want us to help them with anything.

well if he is still alive and works in the same field as i do and contacts me about a work scheme that he just hatched which would benefit his business much more than my business which is exactly the same as his and just down the road and also wants me to put in just as much work, then i really might tell him to eff off.

damnit, why is our fanbase so insanely Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!)?

this place should be called gpc-lite butthurt edition 2.0

ksu and mu should drink a beer together, talk about what bothers them, and then go rock the dance floor and slam some high-fives with the rest of the buds

Maybe take a few years off to ease the butthurt of our Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) fanbase, and then schedule something.  I just don't want to wait 18 years like A&M/PigAggy did.

We have to be accurate with what really happened.

The apartment we were living in had a fire. It wasn't a huge fire, but enough to do some damage. It was possible the complex would be torn down, a lot of things were up in the air. My roommate went out and got a new lease because of the fire. Seems his parents had a little more money than we did, so he had no problem with the deposit. I didn't have that advantage, but I knew the guy that lives down the hall and his dad was loaded. He seemed to want to stay, so I figured if he stuck around the complex might be repaired, plus I didn't have many other options other than a couple crappy apartments; real dives. The guy down the hall could've probably built his own apartment if he wanted to. Part of the problem was my roommate didn't get along too well with him.

Eventually they figured out (they think) what started the fire. The guy down the hall encouraged me to stay and since I didn't have many other options I did and in fact got a sweet deal on my new place in the complex. In some ways after the damage was fixed my old roommate kind of wanted to stay too, but it was too late, he already had a lease.

I don't think there is any problem meeting my old roommate for a beer or two once in a while.

Fairly accurate, but I would argue that the old roommate helped contribute some to the fire.  Which is my big point of contention.  And they were looking to leave with Nubb/CU, which basically started the fire, but didn't have anywhere to go.

Its not a huge deal to me if we do it, I get the benefits.  If it were up to me though, I wouldn't do them any favors and, as Daris said, they need this more than we do.

So he went out and looked at another apartment the year before? Thing is, there was a fire that year too, but some guy no one really liked left along with another guy that was high all the time. No one cared all that much after the guy down the hall with the money helped get things fixed.

I'll admit it was frustrating that my roommate decided to leave at the time, but I'm over it now.
