Hoping that a coach will fail is no more Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) than hoping a coach will succeed.

I don't hope we lose to force out Weber.  I hope we win.  I hope we are all wrong about him and we do well.  At first all I wanted to do was be angry and make what was done be undone.  I don't agree with the hire but I really don't see any benefit in hoping for losses to move on quicker.  I still think John Currie is out for himself and we would do well to not lose sight of that.  But, ultimately, I'm glad that the players are all allegedly staying and I'm still going to be excited for basketball.

anyone who doesn't want to win is an idiot

brucey is going to lull us all back into a mediocre slumber. our anger is already beginning to ebb. the tucks will never let him leave. currie knew exactly what he was doing. hire the "nice guy," and the k-state fanbase will mediocre itself to the grave.. i'm with sys. i still want to win.
Pardon me, but I think Sys wants us to lose.  You know to get rid of mr. nice guy.  :fatty:

It's difficult for me to support a coach who I think is going to fail in 4 years (and I don't think that is illogical to think at all).  Like, I just can't get past what happened at illinois.  And therefore any emotional (or is it emawtional?) or monetary investment seems futile.

pro tip: "hoping" does absolutely nothing

I mean I can hope for a unicorn to give me a ride to work or I can hope for a cherry pie to magically appear in the oven but that hope does nothing to sway either event taking place.

 :jerk:

Yes, but if you actually plan on your "hope" influencing the outcome of something, than you...you know what...eff it.  This doesn't even deserve a response.  You're smarter than this and so am I.  Go try and mind eff somebody else.  :dubious:

Hoping is only slightly less effective than supporting or giving a chance, so it's definitely worthwhile.

Oh JFC.  If you can wish for cherry pie, I can sure as crap wish for delicious, warm apple cobbler with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.  I mean, cherry pie? What are you- a rough ridin' 8 year old?  This is why we can never have civil discussions on this board.  Cherry pie.  JFC.

I want to like him. I do. But after being the angriest fans in America, I just can't get excited about having this guy as our coach:

SB, who in this world said he is exciting.  I just want our team to win; and who gives a crap if he's someone who makes me uncomfortable, chocolate, or chile pepper.  :opcat:

Ya I'm not really sure you get what I was saying there.

I'm sorry, but most fans won't want to see our program lose. IMO, it would put us in an even deeper hole.

Nope can't cheer for weber, and eff currie in the face. I will still cheer the hell out of ksu but any success we have I will give the credit to the players.

I poured so much hope/energy into the Frank years that I don't know if I can start over.  I feel like I've been running a marathon with the Frank and at mile 20 Currie told me to walk back to the start line with oscar while he talks my ear off about chicken nuggets, integrity, Gene Keady and other stupid irrelevant crap I don't care about.

the problem with winning is that _fan and rake are right, weber is good enough (and lucky enough to have inherited a very solid team) that he'll win more than enough to stay for a decade or more.  and i'm right that he's not good enough for me to want him at kstate for that long.

the only way to avoid a decade of malaise is to lose, and lose fast.  we need key players to transfer.  once again, ar-t is our best, brightest hope.
