One of the worst parts of all is that, while I've never been to Columbia, I can almost guarantee it's the same city as Baton Rouge. Just exactly the same....except without LSU football to brag about. And trust me friends, Baton Rouge=Topeka Without All The Excitement.

People also call it "The City That Never Wakes."  Guarantee Columbia is the same city.  Same exact rough ridin' city.  Same ~750,000 sprawling metro population with tons of traffic yet not all that much cool stuff to do...same terrible schools...same blatant segregation (brought about by White Flight)...same boring capital city downtown full of uninspired, cement, square-looking government buildings from the 1960s that shut down at 5 pm...same terrible nightlife that you think would be great because "hey, it's an SEC town!" but really it's just complete crap...

And we just got jilted for it. Because our AD is a dumbfuck.

Frank, they probably don't even have anything comparable to The Chef.  I know these towns.

 :flush: :flush: :flush:

Wait...do you guys really think that Columbia is a downgrade from Manhattan? Be honest.

Are you aware that Frank has a black wife?

Yes, I saw it on an ESPN special last year. Why is that relevant to anything?

Because there's a confederate flag at your state house

It does still fly. Saw it today when I was there. Disgusting.

The Confederate flag hasn't flown above the Statehouse in more than a decade.

Steve Spurrier was still bitching about the flag as recently as 2007, so if you took it down, it was less than 5 years ago.

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=2837735

"The Confederate flag shouldn't fly at the Statehouse, South Carolina football coach Steve Spurrier said Saturday after the Gamecocks' spring game."

The flag still flies as part of a Civil War memorial on the Statehouse grounds, just not above it as many of you said.

Oh, that's totally understandable, then.

I'm not defending it, just stating the facts. You won't get a big fight out of me in support of that flag. I'm a Midwesterner originally...but it is what it is...

I don't see how anyone can claim South Carolina isn't racist when Borat has them on tape being racist and it was proven in court that they were all racist

Many of you have very disturbing opinions of the South and from them I can tell that few of you have lived there for any real amount of time. I'd suggest that you guys visit but I'd rather you not with the kinds of attitudes you have.

Really though, no one can see the problems with the arguments you've been making?...

...There have been racists in the South therefore all Southerners must be racist....There is a Confederate flag on Government property in SC therefore all people from that State are racist and hate interracial marriage.

Who's actually prejudiced here? Wait I know, I know...its me.

Your state just legalized interracial marriage in 1996.

I have lived in the South, as I mentioned, for three years. Columbia is undoubtedly the same as Baton Rouge (except without Mardi Gras and LSU football), so therefore it sucks super hard. Sorry.

I'm close to being done here.

You know...I'd heard from some NU fans that K-State had some pretty trashy fans and when I first moved to Manhattan I didn't believe it. This is the first time I've really engaged K-State fans in a way that could possibly be concieved as less than positive and your response has been almost uniformally profane, immature and disrespectful.

I know exactly what those Husker fans mean now.

This is really the face you guys present to fans of other schools?
