Would Frank qualify as someone with a strong Chicago connection?

(Honest question: BBall recruitniks know this answer a lot better than me.)

If frank has chicago connections, he's been doing a fantastic job hiding them for about 4 years now.

Well, Jake wouldn't be bad to hang your hat on.  I can't think of anything else that would really qualify though

Pretty sure we're the only top 40 program in a major conference constantly afraid of losing their coach to similar or worse program.

Well, the only wildcard, IMO, is what Currie would be willing to pay him if someone offered him good money at a good job.

Currie doesn't strike me as the kind of guy that would counteroffer a school willing to overpay a coach.

Again, that's just my gut feeling, and it's independent of whether or not we're talking about Illinois.

As I've stated in another thread Frank is due for another contract negotiation starting April 1, so Currie won't necessarily be matching an offer just to do it.  Frank has earned a raise and he'll get one.

I doubt most k-state fans would agree with that.

If Illinois wants Frank, our fans should be concerned.  I hope you realize that.

Agreed, but most K-state would also be butthurt if he left because we wouldn't give him a raise. It's because they're stupid, mostly.

Another $150K a year.

He'll make nearly $1.8 million this year.

Dax his contract is getting ripped up, if not he will be gone for sure next year with no buyout.

I was just talking money.   Frank is worth more money, and that more money is about $2 million dollars a year.   Anything beyond that he's going to need to start adding some trophies to the trophy case beyond the "Nobody Cares Hawaii Classic" trophy.

I think we could match whatever Illinois would be willing to offer, but would Currie actually do it?

we could pay him 20 million a rough ridin' year.

Illinois is a much better job than K-State.  It's a top 10 job with the right coach.

Yeah because the recent and historical  trends of the two programs have born that out.

Someone ITK said they're probably going to spend an a$$load of money renovating Assembly Hall.   They said it might match Purdue who just spent $150 million renovating and adding on to Mackey Arena.

Someone in the sports facility renovation business.

They've already hired AECom who is doing our Football Stadium.
