Got it, in future just call him "not Brady Quinn dude" and I'll know who you are talking about.

Just shredded my chest, arms, and shoulders.  Have a football game tomorrow, will probably be pretty sore.

Still looking for a good solution to the shin splint problem.  Any ideas/tips? :dunno:

Massage (always towards the heart!) for 15 minutes every day. Ice.

Make me a beginner workout plan for a 32 year old guy who can do 20 pushups who refuses to go to the beefcake free weight area of my gym but wants to get studlier.

Would you be willing to workout at home?

yes, but I only have carpet, 25 lbs. dumbells and soul at home
http://hundredpushups.com/
I'm trying this. It's obvious that they are overly optimistic about the time frame to get to 100, at least for me. Granted, I'm a soft 30 something that is also cutting calories, so I don't have everything working in my favor, but I'll continue because its still good for me. Also doing the Couch to 5k program at the same time. Hopefully at the end of that I'll be looking and feeling lots better than now.
I once blew clove smoke in a guy's face that cut in front of me in the line to KJ's.

remember to go at your own pace and don't let some jackass on the interweb or dvd or whatever push you too hard.  it's better to start slow and stick with it and gradually increase the intensity then to fire out of the gate and get frustrated and quit.

Fa sho.

Thinking I'll have replicate some weeks. Right now I fall short a pushup or two on any given set, but make 2-3 sets. Once I can't complete some sets and come close on the rest, I'm gonna redo the previous week's workout. Any exercise is good for someone like me but there is an inherent problem with having a plan get a person to X goal within X time frame regardless of the starting point.

_FAN fitness plan. I don't really like running or lifting weights, but I like to golf. Started this last summer.

1) Drop empty calories. Soda/pop being #1. Also drop most junk foods, candy, ice cream, etc (basically sugars, especially processed stuff). Okay occasionally in small portions.
2) Eat decent amounts of good foods. Don't need 3rds/4ths.
3) Healthy snacks, mainly almonds and dried fruit.
4) Switch to red wine instead of beer or bourbon/coke. Now occasionally have a beer or two.
5) Play lots of golf, but walk whenever possible. A trip around Wildcat Creek is 2 miles. Walking 18 at Stagg, Meadows, or Custer Hill is close to 5. I played Wildcat 5-6 times a week, plus other big courses and mainly tried to walk.

Lost 35 pounds and have maintained it.

I just read through this entire thread and there's some great stuff in here. Seems like I have been doing the steve dave workout routine. There's nothing like 40 min on the elliptical while listening to "45:33" by LCD Soundsystem.
I'm anxious to do 15 40-yd dashes tonight.

Who would be your ideal lifting buddy?  Mine: Brady Quinn.  Strutting around the gym, crushing EAS and telling people when we were actually done.

When we were kids WonderMeal and I used to work out with Lee Haney, it would be nice to meet up with him again and pound out some reps.
