Life has been very stressful. Bigger role at work and planning the wedding, plus all the holiday crap that we just endured. I'm not a stress eater, but I am a stress boozer.  :frown:

Cut out sugar, booze, and processed foods.  Eat meat, veggies, and some fruit (not juice).  Cut out dairy too if you really want results.  Sugar is what's making you fat. Not lack of cardio.

I did this back in sept.  Saw a huge benefit right away.  Have stalled recently.  Cutting carbs down a little bit and raising the protein back up a little to see if that helps.  My nutritionist recommended doing a little cardio as well.

I was too.  I got away from it for the most part.  I still drink a little here and there but not much at all.

What helped me is club soda and lime.  The alcoholic's trick.  Doesn't do much for stress relief, but the times I just want a drink, it hits the spot.

New years resolution.

Counting calories.  Not too big of a deal for me because I don't eat a lot of junk food.  My fitness pal has a great directory of foods processed and non to help track.  going for under 2100 calories/day and doing 20-30 minutes of light cardio 4-5 times per week.

If you already eat pretty good, jump all the way in and do macros.

Don't know much about it but the little I read seems like it would fit.

We eat pretty well, we cook 4-5 nights a week and have left overs 1 of the others at least.
Pretty fresh as much as we can.  2 meals are Blue Apron which is pretty healthy and correctly portioned for the most part.

I tried doing the macros and it was too much of a PITA for me.  I wouldn't worry about it until you're plateu'ing.

Enter in your last week or so, then go to "nutrition" in MFP.  It will tell you the macros (and micros if you want them) and will also chart out by percentage how your calories are fitting in to protein, carb, and fat.  All you have to do then is find a good source to hook you up with a good set of percentages to follow to achieve what you want.

If you are already eating well, do The Zone.  Basically a workaround for portion control/semi-simplified macro counting.  It's a PITA for like a week measuring out everything (need a digital scale) but you learn to eyeball it after that pretty well.

I'm up to 172.2. I'm uncertain what a good goal would be. It'd be fun to be 5 11, 185 and looking good in it.

I just went to the gym wearing this sleeve and it worked pretty well.

If I see any of you wearing one of those hypoxic training masks at the gym I will punch you in your face.

Unless you also are ripped, in which case I will just try not to stare.

There's a ripped dude that wears one. Fantastic shape but serious dork. Makes me chuckle.

Have any of you guys changed your diet to fit the new FDA guidelines?  I guess fat is ok but sugar is bad now?

I have already been working out more, but I have never really changed my diet.  I think that's the main thing I need to work on.

I put Stevia in the raw in my coffee now instead of sugar. I eat more brown rice, oats, steak, eggs, vegetables, and drink more water.

Yeah I need to do more veggies, I have always liked them both steamed and raw, just never think of it.  Fruits too, I know I eat too many sandwiches (carb overload).  I drink like a gallon of water a day so idk if I could do more of that.

It makes me chuckle when they take it off in between sets. Dude, I do not think it does what you think it's doing.

Last night I took a 60lb sandbag for a 3.6 mile walk.  I think that's how I'm going to do half my leg days from now on.

It was in a pack at least.  My legs were a little sore this morning.  I wish we had more/steeper hills.  I hope to build up more weight for that distance, not sure what my body will allow but 100 lbs would be a good benchmark.
