All the pubs have to do is argue that Clinton was the S.o.S, and look what happened with the regime she helped establish during her tenure.

I promise you that once it's officially confirmed, it will hit the media back home. U.S. weapons attacking U.S. citizens in a country where military assistance is already controversial? There will be blood.
I would agree many other days out of the week.  The national media is too preoccupied with 'Pub debate BS and other related topics.  You really think any of the 'Pubs will talk about any kind of military issue that doesn't involve spending more money?  Any negative .mil related story is a no go for them.

Too many Republican candidates and leaders have specifically praised Sisi for it not to become an issue.

Is it possible that maybe you are over reacting here felix?

Possible. But an American tourist being shelled by an Apache supplied by America to a government with a very dubious human rights record seems lik kind of a big deal to me.

BTW, the Egyptian media published the American's name today and said she left the Egyptian hospital to return to the states.

To recap for those not reading all the previous posts: the Egyptian military carried out 5 airstrikes over three hours on a group of picnicking foreign tourists 4 hours outside Cairo, killing 12 and injuring 10 using both Apaches and ground forces who gunned down those that tried to run away.

The group had permits, had gone through all the usual checkpoints, and had a police escort with them at the time.

The American made apaches part is the least shocking or bothersome. I mean we sell our crap to everyone and have forever.

Name a time an American tourist was the victim of three-hours of airstrikes via American-supplied arms courtesy of a key American ally with whom we've recently been promoting said arms sales in tweets that literally used the campaign slogan of that country's president as a hashtag.

I may have set an esoteric bar there, so use poetic license.

Her fiancé, a legal resident and Mexican citizen, is dead. She was fortunate enough to survive shrapnel wounds that caused heavy bleeding and medical care that was delayed for about 8-9 hours.

If I'm overreacting to this, by God I swear I will eat BOTH a McArabic and whatever crazy Pizza Hut Egyptian option the board chooses.

You are definitely not overreacting. It's just the American made bit that doesn't seem so shocking to me.

I mean we shot down a freaking airliner and killed like 300 people in the 80s and what were the consequences?

The american-made 'copters part isn't shocking but could be the most politically inflammatory here.

Before heading to the UN general Assembly, Sisi pardoned a bunch of political prisoners. The most famous one was randomly dropped off at the school across the street where I take my daughter to play on the weekends. He said he had no idea why police dropped him there. So rough ridin' Egyptian.

That the police literally drove him from the Max security prison to the ritzy expat neighborhood and dropped him on the curb still in his prison clothes? That's the part I thought was funny.

mexicans seem to mostly not care.  think it's hypocritical of their president to care/pretend to care when his administration (in their eyes) has dragged feet on/covered up domestic murders.

NPR had one of them on yesterday afternoon.   Asked him "what are you going to do now?" and the guy , for real, said "I'm going to Disneyland... ".

That happened.

Are the streets running with the blood of animal sacrifices for eid?

They passed a law banning the slaughter of animals in the streets (skeptical locals call it the "parting the Red Sea" law).

https://twitter.com/the_felixrex/status/647019466954526720

It's a literal slaughterhouse downstairs in the parking garage. We're on the ground floor, and the screams and charnel stench are so overwhelming we're spending almost all the holiday outside the house. My daughter may never sleep again.
