Thanks for the kind words from many of you. Also, my second name choice was "Marcher Lord of the Horizon".
When things calm down a little here, I'll try and grab some pics of the new graffiti at the embassy. Things got really crazy really fast last night. Around 4:30, I had to wade through about 100 chanting protestors outside the main gate. But since there's a permanent (and relatively peaceful) protest for the blind sheik set up there, it was unnerving but not unsettling. But when we rounded the corner, we could hear a much larger (and seemingly angrier) group approaching. We weaved around Tahrir to avoid them, only running into a few pockets and just using basic blend methods to reach the metro. It got really creepy there, since while we were underground, a train full of more showed up. Don't think they were actually bigger, but with the echoes and enclosed space, they were definitely more intimidating. Had to avoid one of our usual routes altogether because of another group carrying Molotov cocktails. Like I said on twitter, these appeared to be mostly 16-22 year olds and mostly the "ultras"--the rather militant group of fans that support the local soccer team who gained renown for being at the front lines of the deadliest clashes with the police (and are responsible for most of the revo graffiti). Interestingly, in the days before the revolution, they also skirted "public congregation" bans by using soccer matches to start chants against the Mubarak regime (basically, they are an Internet fanbase that makes goEMAW look like a group of reasonable diplomats and/or giant pussies).
