Not knowing much here, or reading everything linked/posted, the dynamic here seems really unstable.

If I get the order of operations here, it seems like this is how Egypt is handling power:

1) Revolt and demand ouster of leader
2) Get military behind you
3) Get new leader
4) Repeat if desired

If I'm oversimplifying this, or misunderstanding it, please let me know.

Don't forget that Mubarak was part of the 52 military coup and that protesters today still carry Nasser posters.

Felix, get out there and party.  Looks like a blast.

It's bananas right now, even in my ritzy button up neighborhood. Fireworks, roving bands of merry-making protestors, people just hanging out at every square and waving flags and singing and dancing. Its like a cross between a World Cup crowd and a city wide block party.

Go get pics and slam booze!  DL Vine and interview some locals!

In the midst of all this, it's important not to lose sight of the fact that the military leader's name is Sisi.

Both equally important to the message of course.

They pronounce cici, but I still read it as "el sissy" in my head.

It's stating the obvious to say something historic is about to happen, but it's really cool to be here right now. Even if Netflix is slow.

edit: I originally read that as history is happening all around you and you are in your apt watching Netflix like the rest of us. But maybe you meant that being in Egypt is worth even the slow Netflix.

When Mubarak was ousted, CNN was all Egypt all the time.

Now, I get bits and pieces in between the George Zimmerman trial.  Very frustrating.

We just gave CNN a hot tip. That should help.

lol. That's exactly how I meant it. History is exhausting to be around, so we catch some in the morning and early afternoon and then we binge on some Mad Men while we "shelter in place" I-am-Legend-style til the next morning.

It's been a crushing blow to expat morale here, as well.

Man, Egyptians are massing outside Qubba palace cause they think Morsi is holed up in there. Pro tip: he's not.

Also, someone put a montage of that ridiculous MB drill team to music.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?client=mv-google&gl=US&hl=en&feature=player_embedded&v=Dol4WJmNEQo&nomobile=1

really makes me think about what fashion choices I would make to attending a revolutionary riot. Would wearing my polo tucked into my khakis just like at work give me a sense of legitimacy? I don't want to get tear gas on my favorite work shirts, I will probably still want to go to work afterwards. I would probably go with jeans and my favorite futbol squad jersey.
