Video games master thread

So I spent some time playing GTA5 last night.  I basically crashed ever single car I got into, and the little messages that pop up that tell you what to do were coming so fast I could hardly read them before they were gone.

Also, there is almost too much cussing.  I don't know if I have ever said that before on any occasion.  I mean, that's all you hear when you drive around as this franklin person is mother rough rider this and mother rough rider that.  Even the people on the street are yelling it.  It gets kind of tiring.  I don't really like that, and "hanging out" in an imaginary world full of it isn't particularly entertaining to me.  So far, I think the game kind of sucks 

is this a mock GPC thing?

Nope.

Replayed it until I became the guy who has dead beat kid who bought the SUV.

It's so-so, at best, for me.  I have no desire to live in that world, even on a fantasy basis.

BF4 is awful.

Well, that's just not true. How is it awful?

Teamwork doesn't mean jack. No party systems. If you have a team you play with, you're spending half the time trying to switch teams or join their server. The mechanics of it aren't smooth at all. The level destructibility in the series is and always has been overrated. The sky scraper falling is Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!). People spend the whole game trying to get long snipes or vehicle camp or shoot the sky scraper. Boooooring.

already played it back in the old days. I'm doing ff9 right now

i somehow skipped 9 and forgot i need to fix that.  i play 7 every five years or so and enjoy it still

some of the interludes are just SOOOO LOOOOONGGGG.

All of this FF talk reminded me how much I liked X back when.  That was a really good game.  So I bought XIII-2 just now to maybe get a fix. 

I've never actually played X. Waiting for it to get re-released on PS3 which I think is coming soon.

Yeah I think it's already announced for Japan in December.  It's one of my favorite games oat.

actually it sounds exactly like every other GTA but much better with a map that is larger than all previous versions combined

No online game has teamwork. Snipers on rooftops will easily be defeated when commander mode is enabled. The "mechanics" of the game are as smooth or smoother than any prior BF game. The destruction is much better than it was in Bad Company 2. You could basically flatten every single structure, and 10 minutes into every map that's exactly what happened. There is some vehicle camping, but that has been there in every BF game, but atleast in BF4 you can spawn into all vehicles. Sounds like you are playing it wrong. Of the 64 people in the server the vast majority are not dicking around.
