GTA 5 New guy advice needed:

Going to pick this game up and give it the ol' community college try.

What are the first few things I need to be doing in this game?  What should I be focusing on at first? 


I love the Elder Scrolls games and loved Red Dead.....in those there's stuff you want to do to get cash fast, and level up, and sweet places to go to get the best guns and stuff.  What about GTA 5 for a new guy?????

google "gta v walkthrough" and one of the first hits should be from ign. find the section that says how to make money and there's a cheat sheet on what stocks to invest in before each of franklin and lester's assassination missions. you have to do the first one halfway through the story but you can wait on the rest until you're done with the main storyline. wait as long as you can and don't spend money on anything during the game. then make sure everyone is 100% invested in the right companies before each assassination mission. depending on how well you time your investments and how much you make from the heist missions, you should end up with around a billion for each player after all the assassinations. then just start buying properties.

take your time with the main storyline and do some side missions and "strangers and freaks" missions along the way. it's really an amazing game.

i somehow skipped 9 and forgot i need to fix that.  i play 7 every five years or so and enjoy it still

i somehow skipped 9 and forgot i need to fix that.  i play 7 every five years or so and enjoy it still

some of the interludes are just SOOOO LOOOOONGGGG.

So I spent some time playing GTA5 last night.  I basically crashed ever single car I got into, and the little messages that pop up that tell you what to do were coming so fast I could hardly read them before they were gone.

Also, there is almost too much cussing.  I don't know if I have ever said that before on any occasion.  I mean, that's all you hear when you drive around as this franklin person is mother rough rider this and mother rough rider that.  Even the people on the street are yelling it.  It gets kind of tiring.  I don't really like that, and "hanging out" in an imaginary world full of it isn't particularly entertaining to me.  So far, I think the game kind of sucks

I didn't mind MF'er but the slurs were every other word too.  I know we all sound old as crap, but its a bit trying to be edgy for the sake of it.

but i do agree with you pete, they try to force the cussing sometimes and it doesn't sound like natural language.  i think that's the problem, not the actual words.

All of this FF talk reminded me how much I liked X back when.  That was a really good game.  So I bought XIII-2 just now to maybe get a fix.
