mods, we need one of these --->  :bait: but with a hog instead. tia.

I guess you guys have to be good at something.

Because it sure isn't football or basketball.

They have an elite soil judging program, and they're actually pretty good at both football and basketball.

 :dunno:

They 0 national championships in either sport and a losing winning % in football.

I realize they're actually good in both sports currently, but to call out and try to troll Arkansas fans?

They are elite at BBS'ing as well.

Asava... what are you smokin' up there man? lol

Most recognizable behind Notre Dame? One of the most storied in the country? KSU isn't even the most popular team in the Big 12 ... in fact they are next to last finishing over only Baylor!

i guess its hard to see what we have going on here when you are looking up from the bottom. i totally get it, bro. (not really, tho. i'm just saying that because i wanted to try and comfort you).

Congrats! You caught me hook, line, and sinker. I’ve wasted a day’s work on this one topic. I’ve gone from curiosity (do they really think they are as good as ND?) to outrage (they called us WHAT?) to LMAO. You guys are good. You managed to hack off an entire state in less than 24 hours. Probably not your first or your last.

Looking forward to the game. Should be great.

Wait, we are playing some team that has Calvin Klein at QB?  Why are my fellow Hog fans so up in arms about this?

Some folks just really hate fashion. You can't save them Ham, don't waste your time.
Hopefully someone in our athletic department can meet with him before the game, get some tips on how we can improve our uniforms

I'm an  alumni of Kstate and this topic/comments are just ridiculous. People like all of you are the reason our program is going down instead of progressing. Arkansas is a very nice school and very friendly campus. I should know, my Nephew played there. Their football program this year is outstanding as well as their players. *Hint* there's a reason their #6 and their only losses are to bama and LSU. Have you seen any threads of them taking stabs at our program or our men online? No. All of you are worried about Arkansas making our program look bad, well your making us look terrible by all these post I've read. I seen a racist comment someone made about them and I just wanted that person to know that my Nephew (which attended U of A) is African American. He had nothing but great things to say about his 4 years at that college. So please stop giving Kstate a bad rep with your ignorant comments.

It is Comical to think that anyone outside of the SEC actually thinks they can play football. But You Yankees saying that playing Arkansas will be bad for your rep is outright ignorance that borders on feebleness of mind. What will happen is you will get the complete and utter thrashing that you yankees deserve. The next time this board thinks about defaming any state in Dixie I counsel that you first say thank you for all the American art forms that you currently enjoy from Blues, Rock and Roll, Country, and Jazz to the very food that you eat and stories that you read. THe South is the only region of the country that even deserves to be counted as unique and worthy of academic study. You Jayhawking wheat farmers enjoy your flat, bleak, and utterly depressing state. Oh and in the words of Doc Holliday you can kiss my Rebel you know what.

What measures will we have to take next season to make up for this low level game? Gonna have to keep the horses in the game a little longer than we usually do when we play texas.

Arkansans are far less refined than the sophisticates from Kansas St.    Too bad KSU couldn't have gotten a better draw and played in a facility built by one of their alums, instead of that shabby fiasco that Jerry Jones has.     I did hear that a KSU almu is looking into buying the Edmonton Eskimos if he can find 1,000 more investors.   Maybe KSU can play there next year in the Molson Ice Bowl.

You should come back in the offseason. We have debates about our uniforms, and boy do they get intense! Some of our most level-headed posters call for Snyder's head on this matter, and I don't expect that he will get a pass this year.

I knew there were some intelligent Cat fans out there. Should be a great matchup with #6 and #8 playing. We will both bring in a huge chip on our shoulders bc of the douchery of the BCS. I have a feeling it will be a great, high scoring game. Both fan bases will rep their school and hopefully idiots (on both sides) will stay at home and not ruin something great in a great stadium. Is there really a thread on here asking if playing Arkansas will hurt?
« Reply #796 on: December 05, 2011, 02:49:53 PM »
Playing Arkansas will hurt KSU's image?

What delusional kind of site did I just run across? Also, I see a thread wondering if Arkansas would go back to the Big 12 and somebody compared it to Missouri?

Some real delusion is going on here.

Well, folks, I found this thread only because a long-time sports writer I know posted it on Facebook with the following quote ...
"Kansas State has emerged as the clear leader for most delusional fan base in the country."

No one can dispute that the SEC is the strongest conference in the NCAA in football, as they now will have six consecutive national championships. Yes, the Big 12 is strong in their own right, but the way things have been going do we honestly expect that conference to even exist much longer?

Let's stop with all the insults and trolling and take a look at some of the facts in this match-up:

2011 Overall FBS Rankings

Passing yards: Arkansas, 13th overall with 307.8 ypg; Kansas St. 109th with 149.8 ypg - Advantage: Arkansas
Rushing yards: Arkansas, 81st overall with 138.1 ypg; Kansas St. 29th with 193.7 ypg - Advantage: Kansas St.
Points for: Arkansas, 15th overall with 37.4 ppg; Kansas St. 30th overall with 33.1 ppg - Advantage: Arkansas
Points against: Arkansas, 37th with 22.8 ppg; Kansas St. 71st with 27.8 - Advantage: Arkansas

Now let's look at the schedules, with games against opponents who were ranked at the time of game:
Arkansas
Lost to #3 Alabama
Beat #14 Texas A&M
Beat #15 Auburn
Beat #9 South Carolina
Lost to #1 LSU

Kansas St.
Beat #15 Baylor
Lost to #9 Oklahoma
Lost to #3 Oklahoma State
Beat #23 Texas

Looks to me like Arkansas has everything, except perhaps your rushing advantage, going its way in this match-up.  And you Kansans want to talk about "Oh, we are going to lose respect by playing a team like Arkansas?"  Let's keep the talk about football programs and not about corn, cows, pigs or inbreeding.

Arkansas was obviously getting more respect this year than KSU was.  UA was ranked 15th in AP and 14th in USA Today in preseason. KSU is nowhere to be found. Not that I put any stock in preseason polls (personally, I think they should be abolished) but they at least show you who the pundits are giving respect to.  Kansas State didn't show up in either poll until Week Six. Thankfully, by the time the BCS comes out things are starting to take shape and KSU was given some respect at #11. Arkansas was #9. However, while the highest BCS ranking KSU got was #8 (held twice, by the way), Arkansas had moved up to #3.

This led to all the talk in college football news circles being about the dominance of the SEC. After all, they had the top three teams in the nation at one time. Arkansas was even being discussed as a possibility for getting into the National Championship game if they were to pull the upset over LSU. (Yeah, like that was going to happen. Arkansas did put LSU in their biggest deficit of the year, but got spanked in the end.)

Now... if you've actually read all of this and haven't just skimmed it quickly looking for the first thing you can troll...

All of this was written not for me to pound my chest and say "We Arkansas ... Kill KSU!"  It is simply to address the original question and respond, in summary ... Are you nuts?  How can playing a team that was considered a possible championship contender, who has been ranked all year long and was as high as #3, and who most people are recognizing are building an excellent program right now under Petrino, POSSIBLY hurt KSU?

Oh, and for the record fellas ... I'm the buffer here ... I live in Missouri.

Pretty self explanatory.
