Arkansas will prevail come January 6th. This needs to be understood and accepted by all of you perfect crystal clear flat-landers. I shall recap for all of these statements and remarks. Arkansas is a state where people respect their neighbors no matter who they are: black, white, yellow, red, rich or poor. Because we were raised better than that through southern hospitality. Something that Kansas cannot begin to fathom. We are not racist by any means regardless of our history of the KKK being located in Northern Arkansas. No denying it, its out there. However, this is about the Arkansas football program where we have a black OC and a black basketball head coach and with a vast majority of players being black. I can hardly see how that is considered racist as a school. Now, since you Kansas folk are so dang hooten-nannie book smart, I'd like for y'all to explain where the racist comes in. Yes, the founder of Wal-Mart lived as a humble man in Northwest Arkansas and once he passed, the company was handed to dirty, stingy, and selfish bureaucrats whom which changed how America looked upon the empire.   On to this cousin nonsense, if you were "intelligent" you would know that Arkansas doesn't allow cousins to marry. However, there are several others state that do. And one of those states that you would much rather play in a bowl game because they are such a more respectable and clean slated program allows cousins to marry. That elite program being Alabama. Others include Florida, California, Georgia, and South Carolina. But since these programs have a winning history, you are willing to look past their inbred ways. Also known as a trade-off.

Now, just like every other board that is started for Arkansas football, all of these are posted against us so we are more or less used to it because it has nothing to do with football and it lets us know that our opponent is classless enough to sweep that low in order to make themselves look more prestigious. Now, you keep saying how this game will hurt your school's 'prestigious" name. Well you would be correct. Because when you loose to those hillbilly inbreds, you will look pathetic. And in the nation's eyes we have obviously proven that we belong in the spotlight, seeing as our lowest rank was 15 after falling to Bama and our highest being #3 after the BCS tumbled during late in the season. Now if you were such a famous school, you would probably have better stats to show for right? One would think that stats are a direct, unbiased reflection of how you play the game. Arkansas destroys KState on all but one stat-running. In this case its only by a margin of 60 or so yards per game difference. Until you beat the Hogs come January 6th, your precious rep will be destroyed. WPS

My favorite Ark lies thus far:

Arkansas has mountains.

Arkansans are well read and educated.

Houston Nutt is not their coach.

Arkansas is good at football.

You guys can post ALL the comments you want. Nothing will change the fact that by the end of the game you will look at the scoreboard and eat your words. Like I said, 30+ is a real possibility. Klein will be shut down and you will blessed by God if you score more than 10 points. No comments will change this. So just sit back and wait for January 6th, because only until then can you relish in the fact that you are in the top 10 and on a roll. It ends in Dallas  ;)

You know we put up almost 60 (sixty!) on Kansas right? I don't see why we can't do that again.

Kansas? Impressive! Aren't they a basketball school? What kind of School is Kansas State? You guys have never won a Championship! In anything!

Could it be that Mr. Snyder strung together an incredible streak of Big 12 championships? Well let’s put it this way: Bill Self has won 3 times as many titles in the last 3 years as LHC Bill Snyder won during his entire career. Colorado, Nebraska, and Texas A&M have each fired a coach with the same number of titles.

Perhaps Mr. Snyder stacked up BCS Bowl game wins in such a historic way that KSU felt they had to immortalize him in some fashion? Nope. 0-1 in his only trip to a BCS game, which was notable only because the star quarterback was accused of raping someone the night before the game. Icons such as Dennis Erickson, Jeff Wiessinger, Chris Pertersen, and Lawrence’s own BF Mangino have all won more BCS games. Nebraska won more under Frank Solich and they fired him. None have stadiums named after them to my knowledge.

National championships? Try not to laugh. A perfect season? Nope. Charming personality? Bob Knight is more cuddly. Incredible graduation rate? Something like half his players can read at a third grade level.

In 17 years at K-State LHC Bill Snyder won less conference titles than the law of averages would predict.

Wow.

Well, folks, I found this thread only because a long-time sports writer I know posted it on Facebook with the following quote ...
"Kansas State has emerged as the clear leader for most delusional fan base in the country."

No one can dispute that the SEC is the strongest conference in the NCAA in football, as they now will have six consecutive national championships. Yes, the Big 12 is strong in their own right, but the way things have been going do we honestly expect that conference to even exist much longer?

Let's stop with all the insults and trolling and take a look at some of the facts in this match-up:

2011 Overall FBS Rankings

Passing yards: Arkansas, 13th overall with 307.8 ypg; Kansas St. 109th with 149.8 ypg - Advantage: Arkansas
Rushing yards: Arkansas, 81st overall with 138.1 ypg; Kansas St. 29th with 193.7 ypg - Advantage: Kansas St.
Points for: Arkansas, 15th overall with 37.4 ppg; Kansas St. 30th overall with 33.1 ppg - Advantage: Arkansas
Points against: Arkansas, 37th with 22.8 ppg; Kansas St. 71st with 27.8 - Advantage: Arkansas

Now let's look at the schedules, with games against opponents who were ranked at the time of game:
Arkansas
Lost to #3 Alabama
Beat #14 Texas A&M
Beat #15 Auburn
Beat #9 South Carolina
Lost to #1 LSU

Kansas St.
Beat #15 Baylor
Lost to #9 Oklahoma
Lost to #3 Oklahoma State
Beat #23 Texas

Looks to me like Arkansas has everything, except perhaps your rushing advantage, going its way in this match-up.  And you Kansans want to talk about "Oh, we are going to lose respect by playing a team like Arkansas?"  Let's keep the talk about football programs and not about corn, cows, pigs or inbreeding.

Arkansas was obviously getting more respect this year than KSU was.  UA was ranked 15th in AP and 14th in USA Today in preseason. KSU is nowhere to be found. Not that I put any stock in preseason polls (personally, I think they should be abolished) but they at least show you who the pundits are giving respect to.  Kansas State didn't show up in either poll until Week Six. Thankfully, by the time the BCS comes out things are starting to take shape and KSU was given some respect at #11. Arkansas was #9. However, while the highest BCS ranking KSU got was #8 (held twice, by the way), Arkansas had moved up to #3.

This led to all the talk in college football news circles being about the dominance of the SEC. After all, they had the top three teams in the nation at one time. Arkansas was even being discussed as a possibility for getting into the National Championship game if they were to pull the upset over LSU. (Yeah, like that was going to happen. Arkansas did put LSU in their biggest deficit of the year, but got spanked in the end.)

Now... if you've actually read all of this and haven't just skimmed it quickly looking for the first thing you can troll...

All of this was written not for me to pound my chest and say "We Arkansas ... Kill KSU!"  It is simply to address the original question and respond, in summary ... Are you nuts?  How can playing a team that was considered a possible championship contender, who has been ranked all year long and was as high as #3, and who most people are recognizing are building an excellent program right now under Petrino, POSSIBLY hurt KSU?

Oh, and for the record fellas ... I'm the buffer here ... I live in Missouri.
