A friend of mine does some sports related marketing work in the KC area.  He told me last week that his firm's research has shown that the avg KU fan family includes 4.8 kids, 2.1 fathers, one mother, and 8 KU related tattoos.  If you had to somehow account for $300 per ticket x 7.9 family members, still make payments on the new bad ass Rock Chalk calf tattoo while paying rent on your trailer lot, you might be glad there are payment options available.

The Rock Chalk Family plan is $350.

Prob won't cover all 4.8 kids and or all 2.1 fathers.  Maybe half of those at best?  :dunno:

That's true. KU should really learn their demographic.

you could set your family up for life at ku by winning 6 games every other year and beating ksu 1 out of every 3-4 years.

winning 6 games is tougher in the round robin but assuming we expand back to 12 which is what I think the conf probably wants to do winning 6 would be much easier.

I'm a little bit perplexed that he said he took the KU job because he would get to go home and see his family at 9:30 every night. Isn't his family staying in Florida?

Absolutely.  And with methaggie in the SEC there is really only one "must win" game on the schedule.

This has potential to fall apart once Charlie gets a hold on the geography of the situation

Interview with Weiss in the Chicago Tribune today:

He comes across as a complete ND tool in that interview. what's the point of even doing the interview if you're just going to explain to everyone why you sucked at ND? It's not like Ku is going to go steal a bunch of recruits from Chicago

They'll get some recruits from there.  KU, as a university, does pull a high number (relatively speaking) from large cities in the Midwest like Minneapolis, Chicago, Dallas, etc.  It's a fall back for kids that want to go out of state but can't get into elite, private schools (not joking).

I'd imagine Charlie would do well targeting kids looking for Big Ten offers from places like Michigan, Ohio State, Whisky from that area that just don't get them, and he can swoop in and promise early playing time.

Weis interview on Fescoe this mornig:

- Going to be there 5 yrs. He and wife discussed taking a job to get them to retirement in 5 yrs. Spoke a lot about wanting a sat tv, couch and a "clicker" so he could complain about everyone elses decisions in games. Very ready to retire
- asked how long it takes to rebuild a team. Answered with "a full recruiting cycle". The man believes that KU is on a 4yr build, but only plans to be there no more than 5yrs. However, he keeps saying build it up to a winner than let them get a prominent coach to replace him. Time lines seem to not jive here.
- team is 2-10, if you can't play here, you can't play(his recruiting pitch)
- asked when they will win B12 ship. Responded with "how about we win a conf game first"

Couldn't have listened to the interview and came away with anything other than Weis using this as his retirement paycheck.  That seems to be his motivation.

Also, was asked if he breferred Jay or BabyJay. Didn't know what the eff the hosts were talking about. Had to be bailed out on question. Lol

So essentially they'll have to have a HCIW named within 2 years or no kid is going to give them a moments notice.

I'd be so happy if I was a KU fan.  This should go over real well with recruits, especially after the first couple years of his 5 year "commitment".

Again, timelines:

Realistically, how long does it take to get a football program up and running?:
"Honestly I believe a full recruiting cycle. You can get them better in a hurry and sometimes things can fall into place for you, but I think you have to go a full recruiting cycle where you know everyone you've brought in the program and their strengths and weaknesses."

How do you turn over a program as a "perennial winner" in 5yrs if it should take a full 4yr recruiting cycle to turn something around.  Gotta be talking technicalities and assume that 6-6 for two or three years would be considered perennial winning.

KU fans just aren't paying attention, or are intentionally blinding themselves so they don't have to be outwardly mad about this hire.

Zulu mumped himself.

this five year "commitment" from that east coast swindler shows no repect and is embarrassing for all kansans.  what can we do to help ku keep from continuing to do harm to the reputation of our great state?

For the next 3 years, KU is essentially paying $4.5 million per for a temporary coach, and most likely an inflated salary on the back end of this deal for a HCIW.

If this was Zulu's original plan that he is completely okay with getting out into the public domain, I'm really, really happy that we never hired that guy.

Wow.  Zulu and KU confirmed retards.  All of them.

No one even knows how this hire will ultimately work out, but Zulu should be fired just for this given what happened with Gill.
