Oh, and along these same lines, there is no way in hell Michigan does not go to Sugar Bowl. They're Michigan. Only chance now is for Houston to somehow lose to Southern Miss.

Michigan was ranked #15 in last week's BCS poll.  They barely hung on to beat a 6-6 Ohio St team by 6 points.

No one in the top 14 lost.  In order for them to move up in the standings, they have to jump over someone.  #14 Mich State beat Michigan head to head and won the division.  #13 UGA won the SEC east and stomped #23 Georgia Tech on Saturday.  #12 South Carolina beat #17 Clemson handily on Saturday.  Who will they jump?  Do you think #11 K-State will drop below Mich St, UGA, So Carolina AND Michigan in today's BCS standings?

Furthermore, #16 Wisconsin piss-pounded #21 Penn State to win their division and earn a spot in the big 10 title game.  I think there is a very good chance that Wisky leapfrogs over Michigan.  I think it is very possible, and maybe even probable, that Michigan moves down a spot in the BCS standings and I think Baylor will be very close behind them.  After Baylor beats Texas on the 3rd, Baylor could very well jump Michigan as well.  I do not think it is a foregone conclusion that Michigan will make it into the top 14 of the BCS.

Georgia will lose to LSU in SEC championship, Wisconsin or Michigan State will lose in the Big 10 Championship. That will move Michigan up to 14 (because they are Michigan).
I've said it before and I'll say it again, K-State fans could have beheaded the entire KU team at midcourt, and K-State fans would be celebrating it this morning.  They are the ISIS of Big 12 fanbases.

Arkansas lost. Everything else is pretty accurate.

You're absolutely right.  I completely forgot about them.

In my (meager) defense, there should be no way that Arky drops from #3 to #15 behind Michigan.  Even with their loss, I don't see any way the Hogs fall below Michigan in the standings.

Someone will fall below them after next weeks conference championship games, likely Georgia.  Maybe, if Georgia plays LSU close, the human voters won't penalize them much and they will stay above Michigan, we'll see.

at this point its a foregone conclusion we will jump in the polls to #2, play for the national title, beat LSU by an ungoldy amount of points, and then Collin klein and LHC Bill Snyder will ride off into the sunset with cajun hotties clinging to their backs.

They'll drop out of the Top 5 at least. I'd like to make a prediction for the top 5, but any argument can be made and be plausible.

I can see Arky dropping out of the top 10 and edging us for the 11 spot. I don't see any other major shifts in the top 15 that would be plausible though.

I had a dream last night that the Cats got Arky in the Cotton

That's my nightmare, actually.  Do.  Not.  Want.

Would rather play in the Alamo than face Arkansas.

Why? They would finish 4th or 5th in the Big 12. We would beat them, and we would get a big bump in for the final rankings.

ESPN is putting on the full-court press by talking Michigan up in the hopes that voters move them into the top 14 so they are eligible for a BCS at-large.

Both last week and this week, ESPN spent several minutes with all of their talking heads extolling the virtues of Michigan.  Today, they even seemed agahst that Michigan might actually not be in the top 14.  How is this possible for a program with their pedigree?!?!

At some point, the voters are going to comply and vote Michigan high enough to jump a team they lost to (Mich St) or a team they didn't play but was in the big 10 title game (Wisc).  They'll probably also put Michigan above UGA after they lose to LSU in the SEC title game.

It will be interesting to see if Baylor can jump Michigan after they beat Texas on Saturday.  That MIGHT be enough to keep Michigan at #15...

You've already identified the reality, so why keep deluding yourself? Michigan will be 14 next week (unless Georgia wins), because its what the media wants. Baylor will not jump high enough to ruin that.

His offense is not better than Baylor's, Texas Tech's (back when they were still good, anyway), OSU's, aTm's, etc. We would beat them. Remember that Klein will have a month to recuperate before the game, and that should make a big difference in his level of play.

Ubben seems to believe whole heartedly that a 3 loss Oklahoma team would be more attractive to the Cotton Bowl than a 2 loss KSU team.

 :dubious:

He's probably correct. Thankfully, we won't have to worry about that when we win the Big 12 on Saturday.

once we get our Dr. Pepper I vote we turn down whatever bowl (BCS, Cotton, etc.) we get invited to so we can use that much needed time to parade around with our Champy trophy shoving it into everyone's faces even more before next season

so again to recap:

OU win, we share Big 12 and likely Alamo?     Wouldn't a 10-2 OU be a lock for Cotton if a 9-3 OU is a chance for Cotton?

OSU win, we win nothing and Cotton/Alamo?

A 10-2 OU would be a lock for the Fiesta because they would get the automatic bid.

There's a slim chance OSU makes the Sugar Bowl, but only if Houston loses to Southern Miss or Michigan fails to move up to 14 in the final BCS standings.

Likewise, there is a chance that Cotton would pick KSU over OSU if they are both still on the board. Probably not very good, though.

Make it a public spectacle so next year they can make a Sportsnation poll and ask the nation who actually won the Big 12 championship.
