Gill deserves the same chance we gave Mangino.  However, after reading numerous posts on GroupThink.net, it's apparent that our  :opcat:  :opcat:  :opcat: fanbase won't give Gill the same opportunity.  Honestly, I hate around 50% of KU fans.

Do they have to buy him out or just pay him his salary over the time he's supposed to be there coaching?  Meaning the actual cost would really only be like giving him a raise of whatever amount the salary of the shitty coach they hire would be.

That contract was Lew's last big "shazbot! you" to the school. No way he wrote it with good intentions.

Do they understand that the KU AD is a huge KSU fan and won't exactly hire a homerun for a school he is basically hoping to leave for KSU as soon as possible?

Do you realize that Zenger went to grad school at KU and that KU has been his dream job for a long, long time?

That % seems a little low.  I hate probably 75% of KSU's fanbase.

Firing Gill this year w/o a guaranteed Leach hiring would be a mistake. It would be amusing to watch them continually get turned down.

Leach could maybe pick between Arizona and KU. That shouldn't take a heartbeat.

Torbush retired at the beginning of the year, so KU should be able to hire a new d-coordinator after the season's over.

Not so with a loss to Kansas State. Those losses sting all year long because, around here, KU fans are neighbors with K-Staters and work for Wildcats. Losing to the purple people is personal for KU fans, not just because they’re so emotionally invested in the rivalry but also because the ramifications of a rough outing actually affect their daily lives.

Absolutely.  And John Currie won't take a job unless he views it as a life long destination.

Some people shoot for big jobs in order to get big rewards, others shoot for small jobs because they are affraid of failure... guess we know which one Zenger is... :surprised:

KU has a larger athletic budget than K-State and wins national titles in men's basketball.  It's a better job.

Just up at LJWorld:  http://www2.kusports.com/weblogs/tale-tait/2011/oct/10/monday-rewind-oklahoma-state-clock-ticki/

Makes you almost feel bad for the bastids.

Quote
The way I see it, Kansas University football coach Turner Gill has two weeks to get things turned around before it really starts to get ugly.

That’s not a threat. That’s not me announcing some grass roots campaign to get rid of the guy or even suggesting that he should go. It’s closer to being a fact than anything else, and that’s the scary part.

Thinly veiled threats of violence against Turner just keep pouring out of the racist cesspool that is Lawrence, KS. I'm hoping he can make it out of that town in one piece

They expect KU to beat OU or KSU???  Or do they just expect the defense to improve a bit.  K-State Offense will make their defense look better than 8 TD's in one half.
