What does she have to do to get fired?

Same as any other Olympics sports coach; embarrass the school or be a habitual loser. She hasn't done either and she won't do either.

Can't we get same mediocre results for much less $?

I mean if you consider winning 20 matches every year and making the tournament every 4 out of 5 years mediocre all while being the like 5th or 6th highest paid coach in the conference then go ahead and fire her and see if you can find someone else who is essentially volleyball Frank Martin.

Incidentally she is 2nd all time in Big 12 wins and has more tournament appearances in 15 seasons than every other school does all-time excluding Texas. She has more Big 12 wins than Ray Bechard and he's been in the conference 5 seasons longer and she has more NCAA appearances and he's only been a head coach since she was 13 years old.

Suz is the perfect spoke in Johnny Currie's wheel of a world class student athlete experience while never really winning anything.

That was a fun match even though I hate the crap out of KU volleyball. Grats to Bechard on achieving his first elite 8 and final four in a 31 year career.

WTF? That's the stupidest crap I've ever seen in my life and you're better than that.

First of all outside of Texas, Penn State, USC, Florida, and Nebraska no program should be expecting the elite eight or final four. Kansas was not ranked in the preseason polls and were picked to finish fourth in the conference. They had a great year, but let's not get stupid. Did you miss my note about Suzie having more conference wins than Bechard despite the fact he's been in the conference four more years? Goddamn scott, grats, of all the stupid crap I've read on here your post wins first place. So I have to think you're in favor of TCU firing Sweaty Gary to hire Gene Chizik. Jesus Christ, never ever ever ever be someone who hires and fires for a living. WOW.

What MIR is saying, don't set your expectations above the general malaise and mediocrity to slightly above mediocrity that is K-State athletics.

This is why John Currie hammers home family, and world class student athlete experience, everything to avoid talking about actually winning at a high level.

Next up que MIR rant about money and stuff . . . well, prove that your worth making the investment in.

I love it when Dax puts non revenue sports on trial.  No one is safe from scrutiny.

Family, World Class Student Athlete Experience.   It's the entire athletic department, not just one sport.

I'm surprised Dax hasn't ruined the Chiefs thread today. 7 wins in a row must have him flustered  :frown:

The Chiefs have beaten bad to mediocre teams, except Denver.   They were a dropped pass and bad goal line play away from OT or possibly a loss to San Diego, a bad team.   But this thread isn't about the Chiefs.

This is about Kstate and John Currie's love of mediocrity.   For the 3rd straight year they'll like be zero conference titles.  This year is a minor bowl game for football, a half a cup of coffee for volleyball in the NCAA tourney, the NIT and WNIT in all probability, and bottom dwelling efforts from the rest of the men's sports.   Possibly something interesting from women's track.

Yay!

K-State.has ZERO national titles in ANY damn sport, if think we've all earned the right to be pissed at any/all of the sports teams if we we choose so. I'm definitely irritated they (ku) made it to the final 4, especially since we have won the conference in volleyball before and haven't made it that far in the NCAA.
The lack of something elite happening for any of the teams is beyond frustrating...
