 I've seen some of these dirt bike videos and they appear to be quite a menace there. Isn't there some better way they can handle this? Sell them to people who don't have an address in the 5 boroughs?

Yeah they could sell them and also who cares if the occasional gang of folks drives them in the street. They're like the sideshows in Oakland, bfd

between dirtbikes and 4x4 and just normal cars, the sideshows are past annoyance around here.

I'd bang LA so hard over NYC, but they're both cool.

Pelt quality for sure. If I'm banging the city itself these aren't even comparable though.

If we're doing NYC comparos, especially for a single person, I'm throwing Boston's hat in the ring here. Cleaner, slightly more affordable, and just as cultured with a crap ton to do. I didn't live there single, but I lived there married and childless for a little bit, and it was so incredibly fun. We had a three way bang with Boston that was second to none.
Agree on Boston.  NYC’s hippie little bro. Same(ish) bang for half the bucks. Winters are miserable tho.

Facts. Are they much better in NYC?

I think so.  They get some of the gulf stream still down there.  Even the CT and RI coasts have (slightly) milder winters.  Once you get up past Cape Cod though, hold on to your nuts.

As I pay more attention to the politics here one interesting faction is the folks fighting a war against cars. I noticed a "BAN CARS - REFOREST THE STREETS" banner on an old billboard along the BQE and saw this long ass editorial:

https://twitter.com/StreetsblogNYC/status/1439726090780561417

The editorial shared a few tweets and I live for people calling a bunch of cars at an intersection "assault". It's so inflammatory and ridiculous!

Most of twitter is, and especially NYC oriented twitter.

Side note, I really though couldn't imagine owning a car in significant areas of nyc, seems far more a hassle than just taking some form of public transportation/walking/biking

for real though driving here is wild. We are keeping a car for reasons I won't get into and just went looking for a new spot because it's street cleaning day and in about 10 minutes I was honked at once and passed twice on two lane roads for not driving enough like a maniac.

It really is. I've only had one two weeks and it just sits there until street cleaning day.

It's fine. Everything moves slowly so that helps, the multitude of one way streets is the biggest issue.

I don't know if this is a year round thing or just that time of year but we just moved and our new neighborhood was FULL of millennials showing their parents around brooklyn last weekend. kind of adorable.

Yeah, wtf.
The context was he was living in New Jersey while running for mayor. Also a mayor driving on the sidewalk to get around a traffic jam he created is pretty funny.

I know the context, he wasn't/isn't mayor yet. If I lived NYC I definitely wouldn't have voted for Eric Adams in the primary but the unprecedented amount of scrutiny he's received is very uncomfortable for me and I question the motive. The first comment on that story summarized my thoughts of the, what's largely the NYC blogsphere, scrutinizing the dude like he's a sex offender.
