OK, I'll reject Nash if the lady writes back and says he'd be great.  I've got some options from petfinder saved that I'll post when I can get back here for a while.

I mean maybe you should meet him in person and see how much pep he currently has. Then estimate that his pep will decrease by about 10% per year.

Not super old dogs that have bad hips and are too weak/old to even stand on their own.

Oh yeah, that's sad  :frown:

in my experience it's more like 5% a year from middle age to old age and then old age hits in like the span of a year and then they're at 10-20% of puppy pep till they die.

one of the best things about a pet is when they're young bucks just coming up.  while the adoption/take over for shitty owner idea is certainly noble, i wouldn't pass on the chance of having a young buck.

Back to petfinder.  Weigh in.

Tosh is still there.  I don't see anything off-putting in his description other than it might be a 2-hour drive each way to get him.

https://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/36184955

Theodore: Not too much info there but from PR, which would be elite.

https://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/35277358

Reggie: I like a lot of the description, but it's ambiguous whether a yard's required.  They say he can't be crated and doesn't need to be and won't do anything bad in here.

https://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/36174915

Chunk: Not a whole lot of info, but lol.

https://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/36013108

Dora: Lot to like about this dog, specifically says she'd be good in an apartment and can entertain herself looking outside or at a reflection while I'm working.  I wasn't planning on leaving everything open in my place, but if she doesn't eff anything up, whatever.

https://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/34258496

Here's a bunch from that same place with virtually no info about them.  I figure if I applied for Dora, the place would let me know if any of these are a good or better fit.

They all look like good pups. I can't wait to have a dog of my own someday. I've always pondered it, but not sure if it's something I can afford right now.

"Medium."  I agree, she looks like she could be bigger than I want.

I keep going back to Tosh.

If a Shiba was too big, you won't want Dora. My assistant director has a dog with the same mix and that dog is absolutely a disaster, very hyper and disobedient; rough ridin' scratched my car on Sunday.

I like cRusty the best personally, I want him.

Low energy?

Also, it's just past 3am and I just finally escorted a bunch of canadians out of my place and lol at how a dog's gonna figure into all this.

Just fine if you don't have a skittish shitbird of a dog. Our dog is nearly a hundred pounds and he does fine when we have parties. When he gets too excited we just put him in his crate and he sleeps.

for me, it'd be down to Reggie or Chunk. Both look like they just do not GAF about anything and will just lounge around all day, all while being 100% adorbs.
