i believe there's a frito lay factory in topeka, kansas
#chips

My best bud in the whole wide world works there. He's got more free chips than he knows what to do with

my buddy/neighbor is in charge of production.  Can confirm, chips for all events.   They get a small amount free then have to buy the rest at deep discount.   But they eat free in the lunch room.  Also when we work there they give us chips if we want them in the lunch room.

When I worked for RF adding on to the trail mix factory in Manhattan, they gave us like 50lb Tupperwares worth of crap. I was like ok but I don't like trail mix.

I was interested in working at Frito Lay out of college but decided on KC over Topeka. Probably a good idea or I'd be 300 lbs by now.

So, would making rubber hoses suck if you were living in/around MHK?

Topeka is fine. You just have to pick a nice neighborhood. I'd suggest the west side. That's where I live and just stay on Wanamaker and use the interstate.

we'll eventually try to find some land on the outskirts of town.

Seaman and Washburn rural are both good school districts and you'll find plenty of sub-rural houses with large lots in both

SE of town is good too.  If I were to ever move back to Topeka I would probably look outside of town on the SE.  Shawnee Heights is fine.

Where is SE? I must have never been there. All I can think of is Topeka and Kansas Blvd and yuck. Or are you talking about out by lake and Croco?

Good call. I know out west there are plenty of nice houses with land. I'm sure you'll find a great spot where ever you look and a good school district.

Yeah.  I know some people who live out on Berryton rd.  It's a nice area.

Anyone know what the Parker Hannefin plant in MHK does?

rdphff (rick daris parker hannefin fast facts)

1) I played on a parker hannefin mprd baseball team when I was around 8.
2) a friend of mine named matt managed the whole ph place for a few years. he was from ohio and had worked with them there and then moved to mhk to manage the ph here and then got moved back a couple of years ago. still works for them I think.
