they fired so many people they had to consolidate fridges?

yes.

update: i went back to fix a cup of tea and see how the burritos were doing.  one had been removed (prob eaten), one had been half eaten and the remainder moved to a higher shelf and a third burrito (whole burrito) had been moved to the highest shelf and placed atop a food stack.  good luck to that trusting soul.  i removed my second burrito and have now secured it in my cubicle.

Well folks, I accepted a new job offer.

Pluses: Way more pay
Minuses: Less vacation.

Have any of you experienced your best friend at work/colleague who does what you do, getting promoted to manager? We canned our other one two weeks ago and now my boy is going to move into that roll. We also fired our other person in our position today, so now i'm on a lonely island of recruiting for 4 regions until we hire some more doctor recruiters. My life is over for the next few months. Yikes!
I would not wish this on my worst enemies, guys! He's totally changed and it's been really stuffy around here. All the things he said he disliked about our past manager, he does x10. Micro manages, talks over ppl, is super fake and overly nice to the new ppl, and he tries to act like a hard ass now. I still like my job, but i'm less motivated these days.

We travel together a lot and we took pride in breaking our companies record for most doctors hired in a year last year. You tend to bond with someone like that, when you're both shooting for a common goal together. It is what it is tho. I think I just need a vacation soon.

This. I keep it distinctly separated. It helps that I work from home.

I am feeling that too.  I get next to nothing done outside of work during the cold, dark winters. I don't even use my gym membership, which seems like a waste until golfing is possible.  Hoping for a few warmer days throuout this winter until the time change.  At least some sun during the days.

The idea that having to go through a ton of interviews adds legitimacy to a position or company is laughable.

Please elaborate
It likely shows that you are meeting with the wrong people, or they are very indecisive. 2, maybe 3, interviews is reasonable, but 5 wastes a lot of people's time.

ok I agree.  I think 3 is the perfect number.

I met 8-9 different people when I interviewed for my job, but I would only consider it 2 interviews.

Law firm interviews are different. Even for law students, it's pretty normal to "interview" with 10+ people among a screening interview and a call-back interview. Granted, most of those are mere associates, sometimes multiple at a time, and usually 20-30 minutes a piece.
