It is certainly true that many meetings I am a part of are productive, but that is in spite of some of the other idiots I have to meet with.  Most of my motivation at work is to run the meetings.  I run probably 60-70% of the meetings I attend which I am always trying to improve.

Emo, you sound like a person who just got enough responsibility to have meetings and are taking this responsibility at maximum

I thought emo was complaining about his nine meeting day, but I guess it was a brag about how many meetings he could make people attend in one day?

Sometimes meeting are about managing risk.  You don't want to spend $2MM and then find out no one want to buy your stuff because it sucks or something.

Hey fucktards, you don't want to go to a meeting?  Then decline it.  But don't not respond.  Hate that passive aggressive bullshit.

Also, be on time.  Or I will embarrass you in front of everyone when you show up late.

Monday I have meetings from 9am to 3pm solid (including a weekly catered lunch staff meeting). All the others are for different projects with different groups. I'll probably have one at 3pm, too. :frown:

i have one meeting a week and i don't have to go if i'm already working on a project.  i don't mind it much, the only bad part is i have to get to the office in time for the meeting, which is at 9:30.

It's usually from a random ethnic restaurant. And usually pretty good.

At one of the numerous meetings my company had yesterday there was a meeting where it was mentioned that the annual productivity loss from people needlessly attending meetings or just pointless meetings in general is the equivalent of us hiring 60 new people.  That number seems high but hey some smart person probably crunched some numbers to prove it.

Ironically enough this tidbit was passed on during a meeting that I attended today.
