Tell your CEO that she was right and you appreciate learning from her experience.  Turn it into less of you being wrong and more of her being right.

Everytime I've given an applicant the benefit of the doubt for their shitty communication, it has bit me in the ass.  If they don't have the commitment to communicate well, they don't have the commitment to move/start a new job.

I feel stressed when I know we're missing out on $100,000 of production per day, 3-4 days a week, because someone I hired hasn't came through yet. :frown:

In certain locations. I might be generous saying that, but yeah, I see it on my daily reports at times. Crazy, right?

this person/hire is not going to come through for you. make sure you understand why your boss wasn't a fan of the hire in the first place and then let your boss know that you now understand why and then don't make the same mistake again.

Your boss isn't gonna say crap. If she does, immediately get up, go and rip the motherfucking short terms sales success board off of the wall, put it in her stupid face, and point out all of your rough ridin' short terms sales success. Be like, "SEE THAT? THAT WAS ME! AND THAT? ME! THIS ONE? ALL ME!" Problem solved.

She's out in the field right now, so i'll have to put that one in my back pocket. Great pro tip tho.

Also, thanks for all of the advice. Had a great convo with her before lunch. She sounded way less panicky than me about the situation. Reminded me that we've dug up several candidates to fill the void until we have a permanent solution. Said some nice stuff about some feedback she's heard and even took some accountability, since they've had me reporting to several other ppl on candidates. She understood how things could get lost in the shuffle.
