What do you guys do when recruiters from competing companies reach out to you on LinkedIn?  Pretty confident these companies aren't as good as my current one, but there is potential I could be in a higher position sooner there. Long term possibilities are probably less with these companies, especially in KC.  Listen to what they have to say? Use it for salary negotiation?

If they don't have a job you would apply for if you hadn't been contacted, politely say thanks but no thanks. Not sure how you'd use this contact effectively for salary negotiation. It seems like it would be difficult to negotiate salary at all for your current company and your current position at most companies.

had one yesterday.  I politely responded that I am not looking for placement in KC at this time.  If you're in the market, or could be persuaded, have a go at it.

my job is sooooo boooooooorrrrring. it is pretty much groundhog day, the movie. like everyday is just the same.

95% of the time i'm cool with this, but sometimes i just think "man i don't know if i can do this for another 20-30 years." nothing interesting or exciting ever happens. like never ever.

Many people's jobs are this way Rick.  Like mine for example.  I'm posting at work right now and sometimes for entertainment I debate myself on the color scheme of my cubicle walls.  Is it  light gray, or is it medium gray?  I pretty much go with light gray all the time but sometimes in the right lighting conditions a case could be made for medium.

i'm in a customer service type job where people come to me with problems but it's always the same exact problem. like they have a bad #4 hex widget and it's the seventh bad #4 hex widget i've seen that day but they think their hex widget problem is interesting or something and i'm like oh for crying out loud do i have to listen to this for the 43rd time this week? the hours and pay are ok though and i really shouldn't complain, but sometimes i wish i was given a #8 hex widget or maybe a completely different kind of widget all together. like a jones widget or a funker widget. i'm guessing monotony is a pretty common job complaint though.

im sorry rick that sucks.  if you could do it all over again, and right before you headed off to the academy you were like, 'man i really dont think i want to do this for 20 or 30 years', what would you have done instead.

my job is pretty interesting and different sometimes if that makes you feel any better.

i'm just a lyricist. so if you're up for like a hip hop band or something, i would consider. if you are expecting me to sing or play an instrument, then sadly this would not be possible.

rick daris, if you hadn't had children, you'd have enough money by now to retire do novel stuff everyday.
"a garden city man wondered in april if the theologians had not made a mistake in locating the garden of eden in asia rather than in the arkansas river valley."
